LOCATION

The Inner City Garden Apartment is a beautiful apartment in an incredible location on the City Fringe.

The majority of Melbourne's popular tourist activities are within walking distance. To venture further, Melbourne's famous tram network can be accessed within a 5 minute walk, including the FREE City Circle Tram. Melbourne Central is the closest train station also within a 5 minute walk.

THINGS TO DO:

In the heart of Carlton, almost at your doorstep is the cosmopolitan, tree lined Lygon Street precinct; renowned for its fashionable cafes, restaurants, bars and shopping.

Within 5 minutes walk, visit the beautiful Carlton Gardens (including children's playground, basketball court and tennis courts), the Melbourne Museum, Imax 3D Cinema, Royal Exhibition Buildings, Old Melbourne Gaol, or jump on the FREE Melbourne City Loop Tourist Tram.

Walk or catch a tram into the City Centre, including a visit to Federation Square.

Walk east through the Carlton Gardens to Gertrude and Brunswick Streets Fitzroy, well known for their eclectic and boutique shopping.

Walk west to the Queen Victoria Market.

A longer walk can even take you to Melbourne's sporting and entertainment precinct including the MCG and Tennis Centre.

THE APARTMENT

The Inner City Garden Apartment is set amongst tranquil communal gardens. The stylish, modern apartment is maintained to an immaculate standard, complemented by beautiful furnishings and luxury linen and towels. The apartment is professionally cleaned between stays. All linen is also professionally laundered. Secondary glazed windows ensure that the apartment is quiet and peaceful.

AMENITIES/ FACILITIES

The apartment boasts open plan living/ dining/kitchen area, dining facilities for 6, fridge/ freezer, microwave, oven/ hob, flat screen television and DVD player.

A central bathroom has a shower over a bath and laundry facilities including washing machine/ dryer.

Each bedroom has built in robes and balconies with City Views.

The apartment has great heating facilities, as well as a ceiling fan and portable evaporative cooling unit. The secondary glazed windows and garden area ensures that the apartment remains cool in summer. They also ensure that the apartment maintains heat during winter.

Unlimited high speed NBN wifi is available for $3 per day.

A portacot and high chair are available for no charge.

1 complimentary undercover car park is available (max height 2m). A second car park can also be arranged for a small cost, if needed.

Note that the apartment is strictly non smoking, and no pets.

Great apartment, great location, great service

Apartment is very clean with plenty of space. Situated in a perfect spot, easy walk to the city, trams and some great eating spots. Beds all comfortable and a large bathroom. Celia was very helpful and quick to response to any questions.

All round great experience.

Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The apartment is clean, spacious, quiet and peaceful, whilst also being close to the city and Melbourne attractions such as the Melbourne Museum. We enjoyed walking into and exploring the city. The kitchen has everything you need for home cooked meals but eating out on Lygon street is a must! We definitely would stay here again when visiting Melb next.

Highly recommend

My family had a lovely time in Melbourne staying in Celia's apartment. It is a lovely and clean apartment with a great kitchen and more space than expected for an apartment. The kids enjoyed playing with the big lego provided and watching the fish in the fish pond in the communal gardens. The location of the apartment was perfect for our needs - just around the corner from Lygon Street restaurants and shopping and a couple of mins walk to the Carlton Gardens. We were able to walk into the city and walk to the Queen Vic Market. Would definitely stay again!

Great location - disappointing apartment

Photos online are not accurate of current sofas or dining table & chairs

Leaking bathroom taps & bowl under the basin to catch the leak left a mildew/mouldy aroma in a poorly ventilated apartment.

Poor natural light and blinds on one of 2 living room windows didn't work.

Car park was flooded on arrival and had to spend some time screening water away.

Good location but overall didn't live up to expectations from photos

Owner's Response: Thank-you Helen for your valuable feedback. Unfortunately an unusual week of heavy downpour in Melbourne caused the garden beds to become saturated which resulted in a small puddle in the garage underneath. This was out of our control and the body corporate are making plans to prevent this from occurring again. Following your feedback, the bathroom has recently undergone a half renovation with 2 walls recently replastered and retiled with new taps. The remaining taps are in the process of being replaced. Some furniture and art work has recently been updated to higher quality, more expensive furniture. It is highlighted at the beginning of the apartment description, the fact that the furniture is mostly brand new but new photos have not yet been taken. Updated photos will be uploaded shortly. It is likely that use of the clothes dryer without the extractor fan on may have caused some condensation in the apartment. The dryer has since been replaced with a condenser dryer which addresses this problem. The apartment has 4 external windows and 2 external doors so there are plenty of options to allow fresh air into the apartment. Previous guests had accidentally broken the blind stick. The blind still worked but was missing a stick. This has now been rectified.

Great Service, disappointing apartment.

The manager was fantastic for service from booking through to leaving.

However the apartment needs a lot of work. When we arrived in the carpark, our carpark was in the middle of a puddle (that did not drain for the whole weekend). The bathroom is tired with taps not working properly and even handles falling off. The flooring needs updating and the place needs a paint. I feel like the photos on the website are like 'glamour shots'. For example they give the impression it is in a much smaller block and the garden is useable. This is not the case.

We are sorry that the outdoor amenities were not to your expectations. There are about 40 apartments in the apartment complex which is 3 stories high. There is a communal garden area in the centre which is very useable. The apartment is on the ground level, the same level as the gardens. You can sit in the gardens and read or watch the fish in the fish pond. Like all garden areas, they are a lot more attractive in Spring and Summer when the flowers bloom and the trees are covered in leaves. More photos have recently been uploaded to ensure expectations are met.
