About the property

Amaroo is a stylish new, fully air conditioned and heated holiday home on Coronet Bay, Victoria. Amaroo is a fully equipped, incredibly relaxing holiday home, ideal for couples, families and friends. Amaroo faces west with views of Western Port Bay, French Island and Phillip Island and is less than a 5 minute walk to Coronet Bay beach. With both east and west facing balconies you can enjoy both the morning and afternoon sun, or watch the stunning sunsets over the bay. The expansive main front deck of the house is an ideal location for meals, BBQ's or simply relaxing while you overlook the water.

The main lounge area has a wood heater for warmth in the winter and a split system air conditioner for the summer months. We offer complimentary Wi-Fi so you can stay in touch and Telstra TV so you can access your Netflix account. There is a Sonos stereo system in the lounge so you can stream your own music. Each of the 3 bedrooms also have split systems with air conditioning and heating.

Amaroo is located on Champ Elysees Esplanade in Coronet Bay, a quiet hidden jewel nestled on the water, amongst the dairy farms of south east Victoria.

Amaroo sleeps a maximum of 8 guests.

Coronet Bay is a great getaway for those who want a safe beach, great relaxation and a comfortable drive just one and a quarter hours from Melbourne CBD.

It is nestled along the coastal area between the towns of Grantville and San Remo (on the way to Phillip Island). It's a quiet area, with the Bass Coast's only swimming beach due to the protection offered by the surrounding hills and the gentle slope of the shoreline. The beach is a very safe, dog friendly, sandy swimming beach and is a leisurely 5 minute stroll from Amaroo.

The township is made up of a combination of friendly locals and holiday makers. Coronet Bay is a quiet coastal village with a licensed general store, 2 playgrounds one at the foreshore and one near the Community Centre, BBQ areas, basketball court, local bus, BMX track, walking tracks and Community Centre. It is also renowned for its amazing sunsets across to Philip Island. The nearby township of Corinella has a store with postal services.

Coronet Bay is 15 minutes from Philip Island, 35 minutes from Cranbourne and 1 hour 15 minutes from Melbourne. It is a five minute drive from the Corinella jetty and the very popular Corinella boat ramp.

The township committee is very active, and often has special events particularly on long weekends.

Local Attractions/Activities

There are many attractions nearby that cater for everyone. The property is a short drive to Phillip Island where you can see the world-renowned Penguin Parade and visit Seal Rocks. There is also the Motor Cycle Grand Prix, V8 Supercars or take a boat charter from San Remo or Cowes. A short drive to Terlato wineries or the Gurdies to taste or buy the regions award-winning wine varieties, the Bass Ranges Tourist Scenic Drive, Deer Farm with German imported Cuckoo Clocks, Kilcunda Surf Beach and Wonthaggi (mining town and the famous Wonthaggi show in January).

Eat at the amazing La Provincia restaurant or just pop in to get your locally grown fruit and vegetables and other amazing produce. Grantville is 10 minutes away by car and has a bakery, bank, several take-away shops and a pharmacy. The family can have fun at the local Pirate mini-golf, Maru Koala park, the wildlife reserves, or a little further away is the Caldermeade Dairy Farm and Cafe. For the really adventurous you can go sky diving in Tooradin. You can also get along to the Woolamai races which are run regularly.

You can stroll along the foreshore, or for the more adventurous a walk to the Reef Island nature reserve (don't forget your binoculars) to enjoy more than 30 species of migratory birds including Fairy Terns, Caspian Terns, Great Egrets, White-face Heron, Royal Spoonbills, Sacred Ibis, Australian Pelican Gannet, Black Swan and many more. Or take a ferry from Corinella (just 5 mins away by car) to visit the French Island National Park and take advantage of the guided birdwatching, bushwalking, or sea kayaking Fancy fishing? Fishing in Westernport with a back drop of French Island & Phillip Island offers a large variety of species of fish, snapper, whiting, gummy sharks and the sought after elephant sharks to name a few.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely weekend stay at Amaroo. Everything was as described. The house was clean with amazing facilities. We had two families of four stay and the kids enjoyed the toys, books and boardgames. Remember to take your own food as there is not much choice in Coronet Bay.

This house was fantastic! It was exceptionally clean, well presented and exactly as the pictures portray. Coronet Bay itself was a lovely quaint spot, ideal for our family getaway. The owners were brilliant to deal with, we highly recommend Amaroo.

Wonderful homely property

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Amaroo was very comfortable and homely. The house was very well set out for us to arrive and start living. It was clean. Sitting on the deck was very relaxing. We took many leisurely walks and an ice cream or two from the general store!. The owners were just lovely to consult with. Thank you and we have booked again for 2015.
