Away from it all

Really pleasant few days (not long enough) in the country. Great location for exploring - close enough to Boonah if you forgot anything. Kitchen was amazing, so many nice touches which made our time here so relaxing. Highly recommended, we will return!

Peaceful and clean but not wheelchair accessible as stated

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Spacious home in very quiet rural setting with all the mod cons. Easy to book. Owner communicates well with guests. Beautiful views. Exactly what i was looking for in a short break from urban life.

Cons: The property is not wheelchair accessible as stated. Several features prevent wheelchair accesibility including collapsed pathways, step into the house, step into shower trays, low toilet seats, and a toilet seat that slips sideways when sat on. Furniture, rugs, and decorator items clutter the house, so using a wheelchair (or wheelie walker) would be impossible without removing furniture. I doubt the wheelchair accessibility label is listed to be misleading for guests, but has been based on the property being lowset rather than realistically disability accessible.

Overall: Great place, friendly owners, very peaceful, reasonably-priced, good location, and I would be happy to go back, but not with someone who requires a wheelchair.

Owner's Response: Thankyou very much for your very honest and candid review and I am so glad that you enjoyed the Scenic Rim and being on a farm in the country ... I have had numerous wheelchair people enjoy the property and have not had any feedback to the opposite that it didn t work for them. I do my best when a wheelchair booking comes through to move chairs etc and go to great lengths from access via the rear verandah so that they don t have to use the crooked path as stated. It is very important that these people feel they can join their family in the country for their holidays so sometimes it is not perfect but definitely manageable !!! My sister who is 60 with muscular dystrophy visits regularly and always manages If anyone wishes to visit with a wheelchair please don t hesitate to call me to discuss Thankyou for your review. I will honestly look at what I can do to improve on it as I think it is really important that people with disabilities can still enjoy the country fresh air with their extended family and all that the beautiful scenic rim has to offer Kind regards Jane

A little piece of heaven

Perfect stay in a beautiful breathtaking setting - Friends came from overseas and were enchanted by sitting in the Garden watching the sun set over the Scenic rim...fabulous. Kids loved the wildlife, horses and cows alike.

House was perfect for two families and had everything you could wish for - Thank you Jane for helping us to create lifelong memories.
