Be advised that Boquete celebrates its Flower Festival for 10 days in early January. Besides flowers vendors, and artisans, there´s also all night loud music and partying at the fairgrounds and since the hills surrounding the town serve as a auditorium and the music, carried by the wind encompasses the entire town and surrounding areas . This situation is also prevalent during various days during the month of November, Panama´s Independance Celebration. Please inquire ahead of time for exact dates of these events if you're mainly interested in quiet and tranquility.
Pat and Ibu live in Palo Alto, just a few minutes drive from downtown Boquete. They moved here from Panama City in 2010 and have not looked back. Boquete had always been their planned destination for many years.
ibu alvarado purchased this cottage in 2005
This property was where all the family reunions were held when Ibu's parents lived, and it holds many special memories to all the descendants. It is still used by many family members when visiting Boquete, and just keeping it available for family reunions is a primary goal. It is one of the few houses in town that maintains the old style charm that was characteristic of the houses up until a few decades ago when concrete walled houses replaced the wooden ones. The white picket fence makes it stand out from the rest in the neighborhood. The house which is almost a 100 years old and was completely rebuilt in 2006 maintaing the traditional architecture. The tin roof was the only part that was reused, since it's of the prized heavy gage galvanized material not available today. The lumber used in the restoration came from a family owned certified tree farm located in the Chiriqui province. The house is located minutes walking distance from restaurants, pharmacies, churches, grills, and town square. Tours offered through a nearby operator include hiking, river rafting, bird watching, coffee plantations, and visits to Volcano Barú, hot water springs and orchid farms.
The privacy of the back terrace and yard makes it unique. You're in town, but in an oasis that guarantees your privacy. If you want to just relax watching the afternoon activities wind down, there's the front porch that makes for a pleasant moment of privacy.
We found Kasazul ideally located. We could walk just about everywhere in town.
It was a nice stay in a cozy atmosphere. Definitely geared for family vacations.Ibu even provided bikes for the kids.
Wonderful property at the perfect location. Well-appointed spaces with scenic views. Owners were attentive and helpful.
A delightful vernacular cottage with spectacular views, all within walking distance to the village center. Skillfully restored and meticulously kept interiors with up to date facilities. And beautifully maintained gardens.
The hosts, multi-lingual couple Pat and Ibu, provided great guidance and assistance in all aspects of our visit.
Kasazul an amazing get-a-away in Bouquette. Great location a few blocks from town, but still very quite. The house is very well kept and Ibu is a great host. We had 5 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room. The kids loved the large backyard and all the amenities. I would highly recommend Kasazul for families looking to explore Bouquette.
Our stay was wonderful at Kasazul! It's a cozy, but spacious cottage about 5 mins walking distance to downtown. Quiet & peaceful, surrounded by views of the mountains and beautiful sunsets. Perfect for families with kids because of all the extra bedrooms & the gated backyard. The house and grounds are beautifully maintained. Will definitely be returning soon. Ibu is a great host and makes every guest feel special ;)
We absolutely LOVED Casazul! There were 8 of us and we had ample room! What a fantastic place for a family vacation. The location is perfect with walking distance to so many things! Mr. Ibu was a great host as well. The avocado tree on property was a highlight for sure! A great stay in a great place... Highly recommend it!
We were very pleased with our stay at Mr. Alvarado's house from December 2 - 7, 2015. The property was beautiful and Volcano BARU is clearly visible from the property. It was a big house with plenty of space and super clean. We liked the hardwood floors. The house is well maintained. Most of all, our host and his employees were always responsive to our needs and provided excellent customer services.
We loved the hiking, birding and coffee tours with different guides. Also, we visited a lovely garden - Mi jardin es Tu Jardin, on our own and this was an wonderful experience. We will have no hesitation to recommend this property to our friends, acquaintances or relatives.
The town of Boquete has been considered Panama's favorite vacation destination for years, but lately it has become a selected stop for international travelers. The agreeable year-round climate and green vegetation create a pleasant environment. Outdoor activities abound: from touring coffee farms, hiking up the volcano, ziplining through the canopy, bathing in hot water springs, bird watching or just chilling with a cup of Boquete's world-renowned coffee. Boquete is just a 35 minute drive from the city of David's International airport, which offers five daily flights to and from Panama City, an easy hour over the Isthmus. Panama's two seasons, dry from January through late March, and wet from April through December, allow for a myriad of outdoor activities. Though Boquete is a small town, it offers all the services of a city: banks, restaurants, health clinics, post office, police and fire stations, library, and a host of tourist attractions, such as the yearly Flower & Coffee Festival in early January, the Boquete Jazz Festival in February, and the Orchid Festival in April.
