what a find!

  • 5 of 5

this cottage exceeded our expectations! the setting - beautiful gardens, access through rainforest; the hosts - accommodating for a couple of 'off-sheet' requests, helpful, friendly, relaxed and informative; the cottage - completely spic & span, well kept, everything we could have wanted - including undercover parking, all the extras such as a log fire which warmed the whole cottage; spectacular views - fabulous place for a group or family, short drive into Mullumbimby and great access to so many sights in the area - without the hustle & bustle tourist veneer that now characterises places like Byron Bay

A view and gardens to take your breath away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a weekend and absolutely loved it. Peter and Julie's gardens are just incredible. The cottage is also very private. Would definitely recommend and would happily come back!

Can I give it ten stars out of five?

  • 5 of 5

What a find! A simply spectacular property in the most amazing location I have been priveledged to wake up in. The home itself sits amongst landscapes gardens and is absolutely spotless with every convenience you could want. From sharp knives to kitchen pantry essentials to freshly picked bananas off the trees. The rooms are large with extremely comfortable beds and the views just have to be seen to be believed. We were lucky enough to stay whilst the hosts were there (their own home is located a sizeable distance away offering you full privacy) and you won’t meet a friendlier pair. Made sure we had everything we needed and went the extra mile to give us some very special holiday memories. I couldn’t think of anything that would make this a better property to book. I am already planning our next stay. Simply can’t wait to return!

magical getaway

My daughter and I loved staying at Clogheen Cottage. A magical place with great views out to Byron Bay. The cottage was immaculate and our hosts Peter and Julie were very helpful. Peter took for a drive around his lovely property. Thoroughly recommended.

Best we have experienced!

  • 5 of 5

We go away every holiday with the kids, and have used Stayz on numerous occassions. We have enjoyed every place we stayed, and found the user reviews on this site to be very reliable. Still, Clogheen Cottage was beyond our expectations.

1. The cottage was extraordinarily clean.

2. The grounds and gardens are huge, yet totally manicured and tidy. Beautiful avocado and mango trees.

3. Pool was sparkling, clean, refreshing, and well positioned.

4. Views were out of this world - on the one side were the majectic cliffs and waterfall in the distance, on the otherside were panoramic views out towards on the ocean. You really can have the best of both worlds.

5. We didn’t get to meet Julie, but Peter was one of the nicest person we have met.

6. The location is high up in the mountains, you feel like you are away from it all. It was quiet (except for our own 2 noisy boys, who had an absolute blast).

7. You may want to go tech-free in this place, but should you need it, there is free Wi-Fi which we found to be very reliable and good speed. You can also get 4G/3G with both Vodafone and Virgin.

8. We didn’t spend much time watching TV, but was good selection of channels.

9. A good library of books to enjoy.

10. The cottage was well equipped, kitchen had all the utensils.

11. Lots of things to do around the area - we walked Minyon Falls track one day, and went to Brunswick Heads on another. All within easy drive. But other days we simply stayed and relaxed at the property, enjoyed the pool.

Peter and Julie obviously take great pride in their property, and maintains it to the highest level with love. We will certainly be back again. Cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you!

A Beautiful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and i absolutely enjoyed every bit of our stay. The view to being surrounded by the beauty of nature. The cottage was completely tidy to every detail, a goodnight's sleep was enjoyed each night and everything was thought of from food to utensils. The clean pool was enjoyed everyday (including night when the pool lit up!) we were there and we had the pleasure of meeting the loveliest people we've ever met. Thank-you so much Peter and Julie for a relaxing, well needed experience. We will definitely be back!
