Overview

About the property

Deedy's Nest is a private freestanding home, with a large home feel, designed just for a couple. It has a large open plan living/dinning/kitchen area, bedroom with walk-in robe & iron/ironing board cupboard, spacious bathroom/laundry, study & tons of built in storage surrounded by over a 1000sqm of native gardens & tall gums. The Living, Bedroom and Study have huge windows with double sliding glass doors that look and walk out onto individual undercover decks through to the garden.

Just before I let you know all the great things about staying here and enjoying Mystery Bay -

Pls Note; For the more budget conscious you can bring your own Linen for Queen Bed....

ELSE

*** LINEN-Towels, beach towels & sheets-(extra cost) $30 on request ***

.... as well as being one of the very few couples accommodations where you get to have the whole house and garden, to yourselves, to totally relax in ......

There is;

An easy stroll that will get you to the Main Beach or a 2km walk or drive thru national parks to 1080 Beach and much, much more unspoiled, natural bush , beaches & National Parks.

-Unfortunately, due to the proximity of the National Parks and the amount of wildlife in the area we are unable to accept pets of any kind.

*** NB Couples Treat - No WIFI & poor media reception - if you can't bring yourself to turn it off or your partner wont put that device down - Mystery Bay is where you can get each others undivided attention & the outside world can't disturb you either "OFF THE GRID!!! YAY !! " ***

(Mystery Bay is not serviced ... so no range - you can get a little range from the beaches ... & the odd text outside the house ... or go to the top of Mystery Bay Rd for full reception. Absolutely nothing on the OPTUS network, IN Mystery Bay, so top of Mystery Bay Rd is necessary)

Things to do in and around Mystery Bay

There are no shops at Mystery Bay & very poor media signals for that added seclusion, intimacy & really "get away from it all" feel....

This includes the TV - In good weather the reception can be ok but in poor weather reach for the selection of DVDs in both drawers, below TV unit, and snuggle in!!!!

......and if long walks amongst the tall gums, national parks & beaches isn't enough

there is .....

-Narooma just 10 minutes drive for restaurants and shopping (& more beaches)

-Bermagui is 15 minutes in the opposite direction for more shops & beaches & fast gaining a reputation for it's coffee, restaurant & wine bar culture....

The historic town of Tilba is also only 10 minutes drive.....set at the bottom of Mt Gulaga for the more hardy walkers.....with a view at the top, or even half way, which is well worth the effort.

Facilities at Deedy's Nest

INCLUDED:

-Reverse cycle air-con/heating - (mmmm toasty in Winter & coooool in Summer)

-Undercover Clothes Line

-Washing Machine w cold water only (small amount of washing powder available)

-Fridge/freezer

-Fully & well equipped modern kitchen; (We have a small selection of condiments, for your

convenience, for a sort stay but a longer stay will require some more planning.

-Dining Table & chairs

-Queen bed

-Iron&board (in walk in robe)

-std 3.5m jack to plug devices into speaker system

-DVD player & flat screen TV - (small selection of DVDs)

& selection of books in Study...

(400m to public phone box)

Interaction with Guests;

We live close by & are only a phone call away .... and happy to advise or help with any requests or questions.

The Neighbourhood;

There are no shops just a small community of houses that love the seclusion and unspoiled, pristine nature that Mystery Bay is renowned for.....

Getting Around;

A car is recommended ... but one can get to Narooma by bus from any major city then a 10 minute taxi drive would be required ... remembering we are essentially a regional area.

Other Things to Note;

.....we recommend you bring your food supplies with you. Narooma (10 mins drive) or Bermagui (15 mins drive) have full shopping facilities & supermarkets if you need or forget anything.

We supply basic needs - a small amount of;

1. tea, coffee, sugar & milk

(coffee is instant - so if you like good coffee there is an Italian stove-top percolator. Same with tea bags - if you bring your favorite loose leaf tea, we supply tea pot with hand knitted cosy.)

2. condiments eg; salt, pepper olive oil spices and stock powders etc

3. Queen Bed has; mattress protector, 4 pillows with pillow protectors, 2 extra throw pillows with quilted covers for sitting up in bed & a doona with doona cover. ****NB Linen (sheets, bath towels, bath mats etc & beach towels) are $30 extra, on request, at booking time or text/email me to arrange....

4. If you're supplying your own linen - (we recommend bringing) Queen size fitted & flat sheet, 2-4 pillowcases, bath towels, hand towel, bath mat & beach towels.

Hope you enjoy your stay. Janinka :)

This is a beautiful little place. We had a lovely stay. The whole place was impeccably neat and tidy and the host was so easy to contact and liaise with.

Mystery Bay is absolutely gorgeous and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great place to get away from it all

  • 5 of 5

Deedy's nest was a wonderful surprise. A perfectly formed hobbit house nestling into the tall trees, but open and spacious inside. Spotlesslessly clean, with thoughtful touches such as tea, Coffee and basic spices provided. Privacy may be improved if the main Windows had more than net curtains, and the composting toilet took a little getting used to, but For me it is the perfect holiday home. can't understand why you would want to replicate a suburban house on the coast. This one is perfect.

Paradise in the national park

  • 4 of 5

this is a great property, so close to the national park and main beaches - really enjoyed walking through this. the planted bush and shrubbery out the front offer a feeling of immersion in nature and privateness which my partner and i really enjoyed. big thanks for leaving some tea bags and spices for cooking, things you forget about! We really recommend this property highly, ultimate location for lots of activities!

Lacking in privacy, but a very nice location

  • 3 of 5

My partner and I stayed at Deedy's Nest in August. While the property was clean and in a nice location we felt it lacked a certain something. The accommodation should have had extra blankets, throw rugs on the couches and some cushions. The living room felt quite sterile and wasn't particularly comfortable to relax in. It was also disappointing to find that no tea or coffee was provided in the kitchen. The main issue was the large window in the living room and kitchen area without any blinds or curtains. This meant that there was no privacy from the street. Especially when one considers that the bedroom and the bathroom were at opposite ends of the property. I feel that the rate was quite high given that it was quite basic accommodation at an off peak time. That being said, with a few small changes (especially those curtains) I would like to stay there again.

Sheraton on the Park

  • 4 of 5

Overall the hotel is great. Mainly the seclusion and the room attire. Reception was friendly, other staff somewhat friendly. The food was 3/5 max. Very surprised not to get the top quality of food and service for such a price. The minibar prices were also expensive eg tiny packet of chips 6$. Bottle of water $9. Box of juice $6.

However the facilities such as the gym and again the room was great. I would stay again at Sheraton but I know to bring my own water and snacks as well as dine out.

Owner's Response: Hey I think you've got the wrong accommodation for your review. We are "Deedy's Nest " - Couples Retreat of Mystery Bay & it looks like you stayed at Sheraton on the Park. Cheers Janinka
