Mapleton Falls House & Farm Stay

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Mapleton Falls House and Farm Stay is an original 90 year old farm house built adjacent to Mapleton Falls National Park. The house sits on the hill looking over the lush green paddocks leading down to Pencil Creek which feeds the falls in their dramatic 120 m drop into the Obi Obi Valley.

The recently restored house has 4 generous bedrooms with 1 king, 2 queen sized beds and 2 king single beds. Expansive verandahs on both sides of the house catch the mountain breeze and allow plenty of room for watching the sunsets and providing a safe place for children and pets. The double sided fire place and gas heating ensure guests stay warm in winter.

Enjoy a family retreat , a romantic escape or relax and prepare for special events and celebrations. With an easy drive to the Jazz Festival in Noosa, the Queensland Garden Show in Nambour or the Mooloolaba Tri as well as various wedding venues such as the Obi Obi Hall, the house is a great base.

A short 100 metre walk takes you into the Mapleton National park where birds and wildlife abound. The park is part of the Great Walks of Australia and the start of a 58 km 4 day walking trail, or for the less adventurous; the easy access 1.2 km Wompoo Circuit. Within an 8-25 km radius, bush walkers have access to several National Parks and swimming areas including Kondalilla Falls, Baxter Falls, Gardners Falls and Lake Baroon.

For those seeking the romantic retreat, there is the cosy log fire, award winning local restaurants, cheese factories, wineries, galleries and local crafts. A perfect place to get away.

Sunshine Coast Hinterland

Mapleton Falls is one of the historic towns that make up the hinterland region. Situated just an hours drive north of Brisbane and within easy access to the Sunshine Coast beaches or a variety of waterfalls.

An average elevation of 450 m gives a cooler climate in which to explore some of the historic villages or the famous Mapleton Tavern which was opened in 1910 and has stunning views to the coast.

Romantic escape

Enjoy the log fire, solitude, local arts, crafts, cheese factory, wineries and award winning restaurants.

Perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is an ideal property for a group of people, family or friends. We were a family group of 9 ranging in age from 3 mths to 62 and there was space and plenty of things to do for all. What is really lovely is you can unpack your car and not use it till you leave - if you are happy to enjoy the local walks and the property. The house is well equipped with all you need, a good kitchen and fridges for storage. The kids loved the firepit for toasting marshmallows and sitting around in the early evening.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The house was fantastic, a group of us stayed there and it was very comfortable and spacious. It’s in the perfect location right by the forest for access to the walks and located close to Mapleton as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing Girls' weekend

  • 5 of 5

Six long time friends all met at the Mapleton Farm Stay. We enjoyed time catching up around the fire, a long lunch on the deck overlooking the property and the cows, as well as local bushwalks and food. It was a perfect place to relax and catch up.

Awesome place to catch up with friends. Weather is starting to get a bit cool so it was great to be able to light the wood stove.

The setting was perfect and the house spacious yet cosy at night. We hope to visit soon.
