I’m mostly a Summit County guy, but as a family we’ve been trying to explore more parts of Colorado. We’d never heard of Tabernash, so we decided to give it a shot with another family. As my wife says, the house is laid out perfect. Two masters suited us well! The views are amazing, saw a fox and a deer, and tons of hummingbirds. We found hiking close by, but it was just nice to get out of Denver, away from people and the COVID. We’ll be back for sure!
Your place was amazing. All 3 families had a terrific time. Thanks!
Excellent time skiing with family
Thanks again Ann for providing great accommodations for my family of 11. We enjoyed the stay! The grandkids had fun in the hot tub and game room. We had all the kitchen utensils needed to prepare our evening meals. Your house was “perfect” once again for our skiing vacation.
The Tabernash house was amazing...everything and more than it was promised to be. There was plenty of room for the 8 adults and 2 kiddos we had at the house. Loved the great room! The bedrooms were perfect and liked that each had a separate bathroom (Jack and Jill between 2 of the bedrooms). The hot tub was super nice and much needed after a day of hiking! Would definitely go back and/or recommend to friends and family!
Beautiful home in an awesome location -- What more could you ask for?
The home was lovely! It was close enough to the main road that we were able to access it easily, but far enough away that it was quiet there. We had tons of snow while in Tabernash, but the roads leading to the home were always quickly cleared of the extra snow. The last day we were there was the day the "bomb cyclone" was arriving, so we were getting a LOT of snow that morning. The driveway slopes down to the garage, so if there's a ton of snow, there's a chance you could have a hard time getting out of the driveway without a 4WD vehicle, so keep that in mind. Even with the extra snow, we really had no problem.
The kitchen is VERY well stocked. We cooked quite a few meals there and never had an instance where we needed something that wasn't supplied. Having a heated garage was great. We didn't use the sleds, but there were, I think, five sleds in the garage for our use. The bedrooms were all roomy and the beds and bedding were super comfortable. The two living areas with fireplaces were very cozy, with plenty of room for our extended family of nine to relax and visit or watch tv. One thing I always look for in a rental is a LARGE dining table with enough chairs for our entire group. We love to play cards and board games, so having a large table is essential for our family. This home had that and more. In addition to the main dining table, there was also a four-chair table for quick meals as well as bar stools at the bar. The hot tub was FABULOUS and we took advantage of it several days after skiing. I want that laundry room at home! Lots of space and a beautiful view while folding clothes. The dryer seemed to dry a bit slow, so allow extra time, especially when drying towels. The towels are super thick. There are plenty of towels as well as beach towels for using at the hot tub. Water pressure and availability of hot water was great. We really had no complaints. It was a fabulous home and we loved staying there. Can't think of anything that we needed or wanted that wasn't provided.
We ate at Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Granby one night. Great margs and super HUGE burritos. We also ate at Elevation Pizza in Fraser. Got Adam Bomb pizza by the slice, pep rolls and bacon breadsticks (all yummy). PLEASE DON'T MISS tubing in Fraser! SO. MUCH. FUN!!!
Thanks, Anne, for the detailed info on the area, as well as the lovely welcome basket. We especially loved the chocolate! We love the area and hope to return next year!
Winter Park Ski Resort is 15 minutes from the house
About Ann Garfinkel
Two families own this home. We both live in Colorado (Denver and Boulder), and have enjoyed the Tabernash/Winter Park area for 3 years before purchasing our dream home. Between us we have 5 kids. We all love to ski and hike. This area is special for us and we hope you enjoy it as well.
Ann Garfinkel purchased this House in 2016
Why Ann Garfinkel chose Tabernash
This home is special because of the view! There is nothing like it when you sit in the hot tub and watch a hot air balloon rise from the valley, or enjoy the view of Winter Park ski area with a cup of coffee on the sofa. There is a pond next door that is stocked with trout; a playground for the kids; hiking trails walking distance from the front door; and wildlife to enjoy. This is truly a place to get away from it all, relax and take in the important things in life.
What makes this House unique
A hot tub and porch with the most spectacular view! An entertainment room for the kids to hang out in. TWO master bedrooms. TWO bedroom with bunk beds. A secret 'nook'....just for the little kiddos. Every desire in the kitchen.
