The Old Dairy loft, inner city accommodation

Bedrooms 1
Space 40 m²
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

'The Old Dairy loft' is a recently completed loft apartment designed by award winning architects MCK. Originally the site of a dairy farm in the 1850's the new design incorporates an original brick wall, forming a backdrop to the new layout.

It features beautiful mahogany ceilings and cabinetry and is fully carpeted throughout. There is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area with views over an adjacent park. The bedroom has built in wardrobes, a king sized bed which can be reconfigured into 2 singles if required and an ensuite bathroom. There are laundry facilities and a fully functioning kitchen, complete with oven, gas cooktop, fridge and dishwasher. There is a split system heating/cooling system to keep the interiour at a comfortable temperature. You also have TV, DVD, a Bose iphone dock sound system and free wifi.

Free parking is available on the street but it is limited to 2 hours from 10am-6pm. We do have some guest permits available for those who need a car while they are staying. Please let us know if you require a guest pass as there will be an extra charge for these passes.

The loft is adjacent to Moore Park and only minutes to the famous eateries of Surry Hills and Dank Street. Fox Studios, Centennial Park and the SCG are a short stroll across Moore Park. The property is 2 kilometers from Sydney city centre and only a 10 minute drive from the airport.

You will find the loft a quiet place to rest but close enough to all the entertainment Sydney has to offer. There are numerous bike paths in the area which lead you from your door to Woolloomoo, the Opera House and other Sydney attractions. Central Station is a 15 walk away through the leafy streets of Surry Hills and the beaches are a short bus ride away.

We have recently finished a swimming pool which is next to the Loft. There may be some noise coming from the pool on warm weekends and after 3pm on week days, as our children love to swim. We always make sure it is quiet before 9am and after 9pm.

If you want a stylish, comfortable and well appointed studio in Sydney then this is the place. It's fabulous in every way and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the cafes and restaurants of Surry Hills are at your doorstep and Central station is only a 15 min walk away making travel around the city easy and convenient. But you can also easily walk to the city or to Oxford Street which is a great thing to do for all the interesting shops and restaurant stops along the way - and to Carriageworks too!. Special thanks to Sarah the owner for so kindly posting my glasses case back to me. We will be back next time we are in Sydney

Great location close to Moore Park

Really enjoyed our time staying here. Nice quite laneway street, with some great coffee shops including Little Evie. Easy to walk into Surry Hills and to the footy grounds at Moore Park!

Great Accommodation

We really enjoyed our stay here at The Old Dairy Loft. So close to the CBD of Sydney. Buses (to and from Central) 100mtrs away. Bourke Street and Crown Street and all the amazing little lane ways around just bulging with fabulous shops and eateries.

The Old Dairy Loft has every amenity you could possibly want and need, quiet and comfortable.

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect if you're looking for something a bit different from the standard impersonal Sydney hotel, which is why we chose it. It's tucked away in one of those uber cool little lane ways that the inner city suburbs are famous for, and only a 5 min walk to the Bourke street Bakery. Contemporary, minimalist design, cool art and a huge array of creature comforts - products, hair dryer, super comfortable bed with a couple of different pillows to choose from, cushions and blankets on the couch, plunger and good coffee, fridge you can fit a vertical champagne bottle in, dining table and kitchen with enough stuff to cook with if you wanted to... It's awesome. I feel like we've finally found our little Sydney pad for the long weekends we like to have there.
