The Lakehouse is a beautiful, fully-furnished family home that sleeps up to 10 guests. It contains four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a large living room and fully self-contained kitchen. A laundry fitted with a washing machine and dryer is also provided. For the cooler months, there is an easy-to-use fireplace situated in the middle of the living/dining area. Outside, the large balcony provides a wonderful view of the beautiful, winding lake and the large pine tree situated in the backyard. This view can also be seen from inside the house, thanks to large, open windows in the dining/living area and two of the bedrooms. The downstairs area provides a third bathroom (perfect for washing off in after a swim in the lake!) and a concrete patio containing a clothes line for your convenience. The staircase has a gate at the top, easy to close and prevent young ones from hurting themselves!
The Lakehouse is situated near the village of Yungaburra and on the waterfront of Lake Tinaroo. Yungaburra is a lovely village at the heart of the Atherton Tablelands, with plenty to see and do. Go along to the Yungaburra Markets, held on the fourth Saturday of every month, or book in for a massage at the Mountain Spa & Resort. For a bite to eat, there are several restaurants and take-away shops, including the award-winning Nick’s Restaurant. Yungaburra also boasts a Wildlife & Botanical Garden walking track around Peterson Creek, a platypus viewing area and a magnificent curtain fig tree for those interested in sightseeing.
There are several other significant attractions not far out of Yungaburra. Lake Eacham, a volcanic crater lake, is a short drive away. Here you can walk the 3km wildlife track through World Heritage Rainforest to view all the wildlife before taking a swim to cool off or heading to the turtle viewing platform. Not much further up the road is Lake Barrine, another beautiful volcanic crater lake that offers short cruises and a great morning or afternoon tea.
Other relatively nearby and interesting places to visit include the Nerada Tea Factory in Malanda, Gallo’s Dairyland (great cheese and chocolate!), Mareeba’s drive-in movie theatre (open Friday & Saturday nights), the Atherton Tableland waterfall circuit, Skybury Coffee Centre and the several vineyards in and around Mareeba.
Lake Tinaroo is easy to access from The Lakehouse. From right out the front of the property, it is possible to fish or try your hand at redclawing. The water access is also suitable for a swim, or for launching canoes or small boats. For larger boats, there is a boat ramp less than 10 minutes’ drive away that launches directly into the popular water-skiing area of Tinaburra. For the fishing enthusiasts, there is no shortage of great fishing spots nearby to try out.
For your added security, this property "The Lake House" is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts
