Incredible historical home with all the modern conveniences!
We stayed as a family of 4 for a ski weekend and had an incredible time! The house is absolutely lovely, with charming touches and the historical elements intact but modernized throughout. The kitchen has everything you could need (who has actual non-stick pans that are still non-stick in a VRBO?!?!?), the beds were very comfortable, and the living room with fireplaces and library were great places to watch a movie together or grab a quiet place to read. The hosts were excellent at communication, and it was very easy to check in. All in all, we will definitely stay here again next time we go skiing at Seven Springs.

Amazing
Perfect stay for a weekend ski and snowboard getaway to Seven Springs. The home was very clean, the kitchen was great for prepping and making meals. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for all of us. The fireplaces were wonderful, we were there in single digit weather and it was so therapeutic to come home to a warm fire. The house has a lot of character, I loved reading the history connected to the homestead. The library was my favorite room. Definitely want to return next winter. Thank you!

Modern meets farm
My friends and I have stayed here several times over the years. We love this place! We take full advantage advantage of the property- we play croquet, bocce, corn hole and build a fire.

We Had to Come Back
Our family gathers each year for a ski weekend at Hidden Valley. Our grandchildren love spending family time and getting on the slopes. We stayed at the Kooser-Ankney Homestead last year and loved it. The charm, the wonderful restoration of this 1832 farmhouse, the wood burning fireplaces and especially the helpfulness of Chris and Dawn throughout our stay was exceptional. We could not have asked for anything better. We plan to be back to make more memories.

We have loved living in this home with family and friends for nearly two decades. I served in the U.S. Navy and continue to work in the Washington DC area. My wife was previously a professor at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, but in 2014 joined the faculty at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Thus, we are no longer able to live full-time here and look forward to sharing our home with others. We have wonderful property managers and neighbors who provide support to us and our guests.

Why they chose this property

My wife was born in Western PA, so when a job opportunity presented itself in the region we moved to be closer to family. This was the only property that we scheduled an appointment to view and, even though it needed extensive renovations, we simply loved the historic character of the home. Over a decade, the infrastructure was gutted, the wood floors and fireplaces were restored and a new kitchen and bathrooms were built. We are now working to restore the historic bank barn. Our greatest joy is when people visit the property for the first time and tell us that they immediately feel at home. It is indeed a very special place to build memories that will last a lifetime.
