This surprisingly large, comfortable and clean one bedroom cottage is conveniently located halfway between Cape Hillsborough and Mackay.
Popular with grandparents who like some 'time out' from the family activities taking place at Cape Hillsborough or Seaforth during school holiday times without being too far away ....and if the kids and grandkids drop in for a visit, there is plenty of room for everyone!
Wallaby cottage is also popular with visitors travelling through for a single night stay, and approved guest are welcome to have their pets stay too! (conditions do apply)
Just 1 km from the Bruce Highway brings you to your very own, quiet and private cottage, nestled in natural rainforest on a private property which borders The Leap National Park.
A light breakfast (yoghurt, fruit, toast, condiments, baked beans and juice) is included in the tariff.
All linen and towels are supplied in the simply furnished cottage.
Wallaby cottage has one large bedroom room, containing a queen size bed, a foldout double sofa bed, wardrobe, bedside drawers, a writing desk and chair.
The ensuite bathroom has a shower, hand basin and toilet.
The second room in the cottage contains the kitchenette, which is equipped with a microwave, bar fridge, small sink, kettle, toaster, electric frypan, cutlery and crockery, kitchen table and chairs. This air-conditioned living area has a full lounge suite, T.V. and coffee table.
There is outdoor seating on the shaded verandah, and a washing machine for guests use.
Parking is under cover and adjoins the cottage, especially convenient in our wet season.

Visitors can take a leisurely 15 minute stroll to the local gallery, (That Sapphire Place), the historic Leap Hotel or Yakapari Country Crafts.
That Sapphire Place allows visitors to observe the rare, expert skill of resident Commercial Gem Cutter, Peter Harrington in his Workshop situated inside the free entry gallery. That Sapphire Place boasts the finest quality collection, of rare and precious sapphires of all colours on the Queensland coast. (That Sapphire Place is open WED - SAT from 10am to 4pm).
Adjacent to the gallery is the historic Leap Hotel (Built 1886), custodians of the famous statue of Kowaha, 'Legend of The Leap', learn her story over a drink with the locals at the main bar, or enjoy a meal in the lounge. Lunches available MON - SAT (12 - 2), Dinners available MON - SAT (6 - 8). The Sunday afternoon music session and BBQ lunch on the breezy, open verandah is very popular with locals and visitors alike!
The Leap Country Markets are held the first Saturday of every month, (weather permitting), at The Leap Hotel grounds.
Yakapari Country Crafts situated at The Leap Community Hall is fast becoming the Mackay Regions premier venue to purchase local crafted goods direct from the artist or craftsman. Everything from pottery to woodwork, scented candles, glass works, handmade cards, embroidered items, local photography and postcards, patchwork quilts etc....the project is run by volunteers and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 3pm. Art and Craft sessions are hosted by local artists and the café is very popular with locals and visitors alike!
