Sea Change @ Brighton

Bedrooms 3
Property type house

About the property

Our holiday home "Sea Change" is literally steps from the smooth sands and safe swimming at Brighton Beach. It really is a top location, quiet in the house but so close to the heart of Brighton. Jetty Road shops and cafes, The Esplanade Hotel, jetty, Cinema, train station and supermarkets are all close at hand. The boat ramp and Seacliff Yacht Club are a few minutes drive away.We are close enough to the city for an easy commute if still at work while the rest of the family is on holiday. Off road car parking is available for 2 cars, or a car and a boat in a secure garage on site.

One or two couples, or a family with older children can relax in style in our fully self-contained home. Sea Change is a maisonette built in the 1930s by two brothers who lived next door to each other in harmony for many years. Because we share a wall with our neighbour, and wish to maintain this harmony, we cater primarily for adults but will accept a family with well behaved teenagers or children over school age.(4 years plus.)

Adelaide International and Domestic Airport is approximately 25 mins drive away. If arriving from interstate, please let us know if you require early check in or late checkout, or bag storage as arrangements can be made if other bookings permit.

Sea Change is set up with 2 Queen size bedrooms and a third bedroom with 2 single beds. Quality mattresses and linen (and electric blankets in winter) will ensure you have a restful sleep, and some nights you can even hear the waves. Bedrooms are also provided with ceiling fans and ceramic heaters.

The living area is open plan with large LCD TV, comfy leather lounges and a variety of DVDs, games and books to entertain you away from the beach. There is reverse cycle heating & cooling, a ceiling fan, and screened French doors for comfort. The kitchen has a dishwasher and everything you need for cooking and meals, but you are also really spoilt for choice with all the local eateries and takeaways. Our light and airy living area opens to a private vine covered outdoor area with BBQ.

The large two way bathroom has a full sized bath as well as a separate shower, and there is also an outdoor shower for rinsing sandy feet after a swim. We also provide you with a fully equipped laundry with dryer for rainy days. Sea Change is a peaceful place to stay, not a party house, but a place to de-stress, notice the ever changing sea and sky and get a bit of sun and salt on your skin. You can also relax on the front porch overlooking our coastal garden before strolling down to swim, watch the sunset, or have a coffee or meal at the choice of cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance. The pace picks up a bit on weekends as our beach is popular both summer and winter with locals and visitors.

Sea Change also makes a great base for beach weddings, National swimming titles at the SA Aquatic Centre , major Surf Carnivals (Brighton & Seacliff clubs) and sailing regattas out of Seacliff. Adelaide city centre is approximately 30 mins. drive or train or bus ride away and hosts many events during the year including the Cabaret Festival, The Fringe, SALA art exhibitions, Exhibitions at the Art Gallery of SA, Tour Down Under, The Clipsal 500, and the Adelaide Royal Show to name a few. See below for more events.

Perfect location for a holiday home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 'Sea Change' for 8 nights in January and had a lovely time. The house is so close to a beautiful beach, cafes and shops in Jetty Rd are just around the corner, and the house itself is perfectly set up for a relaxing holiday. It is spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything you need in a 'home away from home'. The host is also very friendly and responsive.

Thank you too for the welcome pack in the fridge (the kids loved the chocolates!).

We will stay again and highly recommend.

Lovely house in great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week over Christmas as it was close to family. Great location only 100m to the beach, and jetty road cafes. House was neat and tidy with everything we needed. Appreciated the comfy beds, nice sheets and fluffy towels. Would stay again.

Great accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three nights recently while our son was playing in the U12 rugby championships in Adelaide. There were 6 of us and we fit perfectly. Paul was fantastic. Easy to deal with when we organised and while we were there and a terrific bloke to have a chat with too. The property is neat and tidy and well equipped. Paul even made sure we had some milk in the fridge when we arrived, a nice touch. The location of the property was excellent, just a couple of hundred metres from the beach (although the weather wasn't too inviting, not to worry) and shops and just about everything else you could want was a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again if we visited Adelaide.

Very comfortable seaside stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely weekend away from Melbourne here in Brighton. 4 adults, 2 children. It was a perfect spot for an early morning run along the beach followed by trip into central Adelaide and then out to McLaren Vale for a fantastic birthday lunch at The Salopian Inn. Then back to Seachange for party and cake! The house was very comfortable and Paul was a very gracious host, popping by on arrival when we couldn't get the oven to work (our fault) and also v kindly posting on some phone chargers we'd left behind. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely holiday home!

Lovely property; perfect for our needs

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4, with two teenage daughters, was visiting Adelaide for a week for a swimming championships at the SA Aquatic Centre. We chose SeaChange at Brighton and were very glad we did. It was an excellent location, just one street back from the lively Jetty Road cafes and homewares shops and a couple of blocks from the beach. The house is very well appointed and host Paul is very helpful. There are two Queen sized bedrooms, the master having heaps of cupboard space and storage and opening onto the front garden. A third bedroom has two single beds, which were a tiny bit short for our tall 16 year old but she was still comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and Paul provided a lovely welcome gift of local South Australian wine and a box of chocolates - a very thoughtful touch. The bathroom and laundry are spacious and well equipped.

There is a courtyard with an outdoor setting and a barbecue, which we didn't get to use but which would be very handy. There is secure parking in a garage out the back.

We loved the room to spread out for our family, the thoughtful board games and DVDs and tourist maps. One night we had a glitch with the oven and we rang Paul and he was there in a matter of minutes to help us out.

A great spot to relax and enjoy bayside Adelaide - perfect if, like us, you have a swimming event nearby. It felt like home. We'd be happy to stay there again!
