About the property

Sleeping up to 12 adults, this large pole-house is a 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom executive residence in Sawmill Settlement. During the ski season (Queens Birthday in June to approximately beginning of September) the Lodge operates as a whole house rental for your exclusive use. Up to 12 people are covered by the standard tariff. For the remainder of the year (October to June) it operates as a B&B. The owners live separately on site during this period and provide you with breakfast. The B&B tariff is per couple with additional guests charged individually.

Only two minutes from the Mt Buller/Stirling gate, this mountain hideaway is beautifully appointed with fine furnishings, original artworks, and quality linen. Built over 3 levels it has been designed to cater for several families in the one home. Under soaring cathedral ceilings, the crackling wood-fire is the heart of the open plan cooking/dining/living space. The master bedroom is separate from other bedrooms and has its own bathroom and deck area. Three other bedrooms on the second/third levels are serviced by a separate toilet, bathroom and second lounge, making it a great place for the kids to hang out. The backyard is built for entertaining with a cosy firepit and garden deck, plus there are chickens providing you with fresh eggs daily, fruit trees, and extensive landscaping.

This nonsmoking property is ideal for couples looking for a secluded romantic setting, for several families who enjoy quality and space, or for groups who wish to share all that this property has to offer. Bring the kids, they will love it!

The Lodge is home to king parrots, kookaburras and crimson rosellas, and if you are an early riser you may see grey kangaroos and deer browsing in the forest.

Our kitchen has everything from coffee plungers to a slow cooker, bread maker and food processor. A range of basic pantry goods is also provided.

During winter Mount Buller lifts and Mount Stirling trails are only 20 mins away, providing magnificent ski runs and cross country trails for all levels. Summer provides more adventure with fishing, hiking, wineries, pubs, 4WDing, mountain biking, road cycling and horse trail and trail bike riding at our door step. Finish off with a dip in the Delatite River only 5 mins walk away.

B&B rate is $200 per couple including breakfast and available for single or multiple nights

Single Night mid week available during ski season Sunday - Thursday

Minimum 2 nights weekend Friday & Saturday night

Discount ski and board hire is available.

Long Weekends: Minimum 3 nights.

Owned by a keen cyclist, the local trails including the Epic Trail are at your doorstep. The Lodge features trail maps and can provide local advice. There is a drying room for winter sports and a bike wash and secure bike storage for the cyclist.

Top Notch Holiday Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights stay at MannaGum. Very well equipped, extremely spacious, very clean, and the open fire was awesome. The heating in the bedrooms was appreciated as it was pretty cold. And the wildlife was amazing. Would love to go back. Thanks Nicky

2nd Awesome Weekend

This was our second big weekend at Mann Gum, up mountain biking on Buller with about 8 blokes, very easily and comfortably accommodated in the very generous house. This trip was especially to try out the new Epic Trail, which was rated among us as one of the great trails - most of us have ridden overseas, raced for years, write for and are editors of bike mags… Awesome. The house is right at the end of the trail too, with a river for a cool-down. The house is very clean and well kept. The kitchen is better stocked than any rental I’ve seen. The living space is great to relax in and the deck the perfect spot for a beer. Even better, the owner is lovely and very bike-friendly. We had bike dramas on our last day, and the owner was very helpful in accommodating our shambles. Highly recommended and will re-visit.

Beautiful house

We only stayed one night but felt at home soon after we arrived. The house was very comfortably furnished, the kitchen well stocked and there was a wide range of books and DVDs provided on the shelves. The location of the house was very convenient to the places we wanted to go - Craig's Hut and Mt. Buller.
