About the property

Culburra House feels like a boutique resort, it's very private and protected beach front position and views are second to none. The house has been meticulously designed with entertainment and fun in mind with total luxury, comfort and practicality all taking equal priority, all this surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

The second you walk through the door into the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room, the view will almost knock you over! Ten meters of sliding glass doors open directly onto an enormous covered deck that spans the width of the house. This combined floor area totals an enormous 90m2, all with soaring vaulted ceilings create an incredible open feeling and capturing the breath taking views of the beach, ocean and mountains

THE HOUSE

ON THE DECK

There's a huge dining table, an almighty 5-burner Beefeater BBQ, bar fridge, pullout bin and drawer stocked with everything you will need to char grill to your heart's content. There's also an overhead fan and light to make sure you stay cool and comfortable whilst keeping an eye out for the frequently passing whales during May to Aug and Oct to Dec, and settling for dolphins, waves and sunsets the rest of the year.

THE KITCHEN

Is to-die-for, with commercial stainless steel benches, a huge 140cm double fridge, 120cm double gas oven with simmer plate that doubles for a fantastic wok burner, a huge amount of good quality pots, pans, knives and almost everything you could wish for in a kitchen, a double drawer dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine (so don't forget to bring lots of capsules!) There’s also a pantry stocked with the basics and a range of cleaning products. Next to this sits a big round dining table which seats 8, extending to 14.

THE LOUNGE ROOM

Has probably the most comfortable oversized 'swallow me' linen sofas you will ever experience. These are perfectly positioned to enjoy the stunning view, 50" TV with blue ray player or our wonderful fireplace. Build a roaring open fire or use as a combustion for cozy winter warming and marshmallow toasting, enough fire wood is included for your stay to keep the house nice a cosy.

1 x playroom - with queen sofa bed (rigged up with a commercial grade mechanism and 6 inch inner spring mattress for a super-comfortable night's sleep!) and 2 sets of triple bunks.

We've gone to town here! All beds are fitted with luxurious 100% Australian wool underlays for extra snugness and warmth, have feather duvets and two sets of pillows all covered with Sheridan's gorgeous 100% linen topped with a beauitful alpaca throw. All beds have bedside lights and power points.

BATHROOMS

Two indoor bathrooms, one with a bath made form a giant river stone that has an enormous 12'' shower-head, a shower room with toilet and another separate toilet. We also have a fabulous outdoor hot and cold shower. When returning from the beach via the side gate you will immediately be greeted by the outdoor shower, a rail to hang towels, a stainless steel rinsing station for your wetsuit, snorkeling gear or cossie. And if you're lucky enough to have a hunter/gatherer or two in your group, just in case you didn't know Culburra is known for its great river, lake and ocean fishing, you can also catch prawns, crab and lobster!!!!

OUTDOOR SEATING AREAS

You'll be totally spoilt for choice here. Enjoy in the the incredible view from the dining table on the main deck or there's 'The Penguin Lounge' just outside the 'play-room' which has lots of seating and a large low table, there's also a more intimate sitting area on the deck outside the front door both stream with glorious morning sunshine. But the ultimate in relaxation is our super wonderful 'Tilbury Lounge' with two four seater and one two seater lounges also with ocean views. You'd be pushed to find a better place on the plant where you can relax and do almost noting. Choose from siting in the sun or under the beautiful dappled shading for the day or use the fire pit to build a small intimate fire at night to create the perfect relaxed ambience for toasting marshmallows or use giant Brazilian style skewers to slow cook your dinner....

THE GARDEN

We love cooking, there's an enormous kitchen garden, with plenty of herbs and a selection of salad and veg along with a lemon, lime and orange tree not to mention our enormous patch of the most tasty strawberry you will ever eat. It's culinary heaven, please feel free to dig in!

DOGS

Are very welcome inside the house but not on the furniture. We have two outstanding beaches which are at all time dog friendly and between leash free between 4pm and 8am. We have a fully enclosed and secure garden so your furry friends will be in heaven & safely contained! A section of bowls, dog tags for your use while you stay with our address and a few toys are supplied.

TOYS & THINGS FOR THE BEACH

Please feel free to use our toys. We have a single Kayak, a life vest, a few sets of snorkel/mask/fins, a wetsuit (size small), a couple of weight belts and some dive bits and pieces, 2 tennis rackets & balls, a 7'' slate pool table that has a table tennis top, table tennis bats and balls, guitar, games, Approx. 100 in-house films and a selection of beach umbrellas.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION,

PROTECTED

Without doubt the best feature of this house is something you can't see and many will probably never realise. Because of our very special and unique position tucked snuggly into Tibury Cove this means we are totally protected from the Southerly and nor'Easter winds which can be considerable to say the least, particularly in the summer months. When everyone else has no choice but to batten down the hatches and retire indoors we can still enjoy sitting on the deck, experiencing no more than a mild and pleasant breeze. This really has to be experienced to be believed!

VIEW

We also have THE BEST VIEW in Culburra (well, we think so anyway), facing North West means the house fills with gorgeous sunshine, which is priceless in the winter months. We also get to enjoy something very few houses on the East coast of Australia get to see… perfectly timed at wine o’clock you can watch the magnificent sun setting over the ocean, it's heaven every afternoon.

PRIVATE

On one side of the house is a large grassed area with a playground so we only have neighbours on one side.

POSITION

We also have two beaches within a few seconds walk. As one of our guests quoted "You hear waves in stereo!" Directly in front is Tilbury Cove which is the most protected part of Culburra Beach to swim, great for snorkeling and is also one of the best spots to free dive for lobster on the South Coast!!! And just four houses down on the opposite side of the road is a path leading to Warrain Surf Beach. So, if the waves on one beach are a little too big or small for your liking or it's a bit blowy, you can always nip over to the other one!

The house is designed for either 4 couples or 2 to 3 families, it is not intended or designed for 14 adults. However all singles are full size so can accommodated adults

Prices are based on 8 guests, with 2 guests using each king or queen and one guest in each single. Additional charges for over the 8 guests are $50 per night per adult and $25 per night per child. Please advise which beds you will be using, if additional beds are used charges will apply based on the additional guest charges above.

Friday and Saturday nights must be booked together.

There is a charge of $300 per stay for cleaning & linen. All rooms come complete with bed linen and bath towels, (you will need to bring your own beach towels) all beds, including the bunks, have bedside power and lights and all bedrooms have ceiling fans.

Culburra House has a very strict no party policy, the house is to be used strictly for the sole use of over night guests only.
