About this property

Buxton Gardens by the RIver

A beautiful country cottage sitting on a 1-acre block including manicured gardens, a large backyard and backing onto the Little Steavenson River.

The home consists of three bedrooms. The master is a large room with QS bed, the second bedroom also has a QS bed and the third room has 2 sets of bunks.

There is a large lounge room/living area/kitchen and a small second lounge room. 1 toilet and shower. The main lounge has a large plasma TV, DVD and digital set-top box. The second lounge area has a large LCD tv ready to connect to a BYO XBOX or PS4 etc.

The house is fitted with modern, Australian colonial style furniture and there is a Coonara wood heater for winter and evaporated cooling for summer plus a reverse-cycle a-c unit in the living area.

The front garden includes manicured garden and rose beds lovingly maintained. The back garden is mainly lawn and lovely shady trees and backs on to the Little Steavenson river, just 20 metres from the back door. Also outdoors is a deck with BBQ, and a large outdoor dining table. Please note there is no fencing protecting small children from the river.

Across the road is a huge family park that includes BBQs, swings, skate ramp, a bike track, tennis courts and basketball rings as well as plenty of room to run around or kick the footy.

Buxton is about 30 mins from Healesville, over the Black Spur. Marysville and Lake Mountain is 10 mins away and Lake Eildon about half an hour.

Just lovely
As we have regular visitors from the UK, we like to show them other places around our beautiful state of Victoria. We chose this property for its proximity to Marysville and its interesting features, plus the suitability of a 3 bedroom house. The grounds are spectacular and well kept with a delightful creek winding past the back garden. Our visitors were very impressed with it too.

Old boys getaway
We have worked together for more than 18yrs and try to get away for a weekend once or twice a year. Since we have retired we can take the opportunity for a midweek escape. We found our accommodation to to be very clean and comfortable. Set in a beautiful local, with well maintained grounds and backing on to a beautiful stream. We loved our stay and would be happy to go back again.

Why they chose this property

Its the perfect city getaway, As soon as you see the river in the backyard, all you want to do is open a bottle and relax

What makes this property unique

The river in the backyard is 20m from the back door and has plenty of fish, yabbies, crays, ducks etc. There are birds everywhere, a bower-bird nest in the front garden and 1 acre of very well maintained gardens to browse around with that same cold drink (or maybe the next one)
