About the property

Our huge 400sqm renovated 1887 house is a St Kilda surprise. Up to five bedrooms, three bathrooms, three living spaces, lush private garden, gourmet kitchen, stroll to Acland St, St Kilda beach, trams to the city. Great for groups and corporate relocations.

Welcome to St Kilda and to this stately St Kilda mansion. The five-bedroom house is truly beautiful and in a stunning location. It features over 400 sqm of space and is bright, light and airy with heaps of room for up to 10 people to enjoy.

This is one of the best locations in St Kilda. You won't need a car, though there is off-street parking if you do drive. Acland Street is 2-3 minutes walk and the beach about 1km away, Fitzroy Street and Carlisle Street are an easy walk. The St Kilda Botanic Gardens are at your back door and it's only a short stroll to catch a tram to the city - trams no.96 and 16.

The fully furnished house has everything you will need for a short or long term stay, making it perfect for families, groups, girlfriend getaways and corporate relocations. Naturally, there is wifi and Netflix.

Our guests have loved the house's size, the "wow" factor when entering for the first time and the surprisingly peaceful and luxuriously large rear garden.

You will love the grand spaces, the soaring ceilings and the mix of antiques and contemporary furniture. Hyrdonic heating and split system airconditioners complete the picture.

Great for Families, Groups, Girlfriend Getaways and Corporate Relocations

A beautiful home in a perfect setting.

  • 5 of 5

An absolutely fabulous house and gardens. We loved 24 Mitford Street and it was a perfect place for all of us to stay near our son and daughter-in-law for their wedding. We arrived from England, Tasmania, Spain and France! The owner was incredibly helpful from the stage of enquiry right through to our arrival. A cot and highchair were also provided for our eight month old grandson. Ian, the Manager for the property was also very helpful. We were so sorry to leave at the end of our stay. Thank you Jenny for lending us your most beautiful home.

A great place to be based during Cup week . Close to the shops and cafes. Easy tram ride to centre city. Great for a group. Nice and quite, comfy beds. The manager was also very helpful. Plenty of books to read and places to relax.

Perfect group house!

  • 5 of 5

This proved the perfect venue for our small group. House had plenty of character, was spacious, clean and well-presented with a choice of entertaining areas. Lovely formal dining room and a large leafy garden/bbq area. Great location too, with an easy stroll to the heart of St Kilda and Luna Park. Will certainly be returning.

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

Our small group of three women thoroughly enjoyed our combined work/pleasure stay at this amazing Victorian mansion. Each of us could enjoy virtually our own "wing" and meet up in the sunny, modern kitchen looking out to a gorgeous garden and water feature. The venue is so fabulous, we even chose to invite our friends in for a small soiree rather than head out to a restaurant. Even so we also enjoyed easy walks along the esplanade at St Kilda, breakfast and window shopping in Acland Street and visiting the markets. Bliss for me was having a study and ensuite attached to my spacious bedroom! The dining room made for a very special and inviting board room. The accommodation manager was also extremely helpful.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous weekend. Our group of 9 were lucky enough to book the Victorian Mansion for a weekend, and we definitely made great use of this gorgeous property; with 2 to a room, there was ample space for us to spread out and utilise the entire place.

Check-in was super easy, Ian the site manager met us promptly, gave a grand tour, and showed us the many facilities including secure parking at the residence.

We ordered fabulous Greek takeaway the first night, and made use of the kitchen to cook up a storm for Saturday brunch. The facilities and comfort of the entire place made it difficult to leave.

The day was spent on the deck surrounded by exotic plants, a pond and tall trees then dinner in the CBD at the Crown, only a 15 minute Uber ride away. The whole weekend couldn’t have been more perfect, and we look forward to visiting again.

Excellent house and close to everything

  • 5 of 5

A group of 10 stayed at this beautiful house for the long weekend. We were not on top of each and some went to bed earlier than others and they could not hear the ones still chatting.. The kitchen was beautiful and was perfect to cater for all us. We even dined one night at the amazing dining table.. All the beds were comfortable which inluded great linen and pillows. We had an amazing time and highly recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne in a large group. Ackland st was close by where we enjoyed dinner one night, brekkie or just a quick cup of coffee. It was close enough to go into the city for a quick shop and to the football. I had ongoing communication with the owner who answered all my queries and was very helpful and so friendly. It was a great place to catch up with your friends. We certaintly will do it again.

Ian the manager was great too..
