Unfortunately the mattress had completely collapsed, was incredibly uncomfortable, with displaced springs, and you had to cling to the sides to prevent yourself rolling into the middle. The middle sunk a good 9-12 inches from the sides of the mattress when you lay down, and sleep was thus very difficult. I note previous comments about the soft bed from guests, and the owner replying there was nothing wrong with the bed, but that is not true.
In addition, the roof leaked, and we awoke to water dripping from the beam just beside the bed. Cleanliness could have been better - windows had mould, and skirting boards etc were dirty.
This is a pity, as the cottage was obviously set up with love and care, and could be just perfect with a little maintenance.
