CERBERUS is a bright & Sunny, self-contained Beach Villa in Black Rock, VIC. Recently renovated (OCT 2016 with NEW KITCHEN, extended lounge and separate dining room), this self-contained beach villa has been decorated in a RESORT STYLE using green, grey and silver.

"CERBERUS" is the name of a Bright and Sunny self-contained, 3 bedroom beach villa which sleeps 8 guests.It has two bedrooms with Queen size beds, and one bedroom with a double bunk and two singles, in addition to a full bathroom and additional bathroom facilities in the laundry. "FREE WIFI" and pet friendly ( All pets must be over 6 months old,well behaved and toilet trained)

Also note that the only bedrooms made available in the accommodation are as per your booking request including extra facilities that are relevant to the use by the guests but they still have exclusive use of the property.

The Villa is located on the corner of Bluff Road and Cheltenham Road, located just a 500 meters walk to beautiful Half Moon Bay beach where the HMAS Cerberus Shipwreck has been sunk for local snorkeling and swimming.

Before descending to the beach, take a walk along the cliff tops with panoramic views of Half Moon Bay, the HMAS Cerberus and the City skyline.


We offer a 2015 Hyundai IX35 AWD for rental at a daily rate of $79.00. If you wish to hire the car please let us know at the time of your booking.

It is only available for minimum stay period or full stay period. Basically you will need to arrange your own transport from the airport to the property on the day of arrival and we will make the car available for you the next day. Happy to provide you with photos of the car prior to booking.


We have structured our rates so they are affordable and offer great value all year round.Which we consider to be highly competitive.

Rates range between $99.00/ night to $135.00/night.This price is based on stay for TWO ADULTS ONLY . Any extra person is charged $25.00 /night. Infant using porta cot is free. .

The Cerberus provides a fully equipped BRAND NEW kitchen if you wish to cook and an electric BBQ has been provided in order to enjoy the paved outdoor area under the trees. Your privacy from Bluff Road is complete with a full height . No need to worry about the children or furry friends as the full height gate has a top latch providing yet more peace of mind.

If you have forgotten to bring any essentials, there are three major shops to visit in the Black Rock Village. Thomas Dux the grocers for something special, IGA for the everyday and the Black Rock Convenience Store for prices that can only be seen to be believed.

If the family chef is also on holidays the choice of restaurants on Bluff Road in either direction are bountiful. To the villa's right you will find 2 x Thai Restaurants, Pizza and The Chives cafe. To the villa's left you have Harndorf's Fine Chocolates Cafe at 81 Bluff Road after which you arrive at the Black Rock Village which provides an Italian Restaurant, Thai/Japanese, Mexican, Pizza and the True South Brewery. Just to list a few.

When booking, please advise if you require the use of the porta cot, high chair or baby bath as all items can be prepared for your arrival.


The Cerberus Beachside Villa is close to Sandringham Golf Links and Royal Melbourne Golf Club on Cheltenham Road. Both are 15 walk mins from the villa. Victoria and Cheltenham Golf Clubs are located on Park Road in Cheltenham which is a 5 min car ride away.

FG Tricks Reserve, with playground, less than 100 meters up Bluff Road is great for picnics and to spend time with your furry friend as the reserve is fully enclosed. On the far side of the reserve, located at 8 Fern Street, is the Black Rock Bowling and Tennis Club.

Tjilatjirrin Reserve, meaning "To Play Together" is located on Tulip Street. Cricket training nets are available for use and the reserve frequently hosts Cricket and Baseball games. The Sandringham Family Leisure Center is located further along at 150 Tulip Street. The walk will take you 25min but the reward is a choice between the pool, gym and the King Club Cafe.

For nature lovers there is the Sandringham Heathland Walk which requires 50 minutes, including the Indigenous Resource Garden. The distance is 2.8 kilometres with moderate to hard difficulty and requires walking along tracks and over logs. This commences and ends at the corner of Tjilatjirrin Reserve.

On the opposite side of Bluff Road, the bus stop within view, will enable you to take a quick trip to the Sandringham Train Station. The train stops at all stations to the city within 30min or feel free to investigate the nearby boutique shops at Hampton, Brighton, Gardenvale, Prahran and Richmond.

Continue down Middleton Street or Love Street to Beach Road. Turn Left and you will see a sign for the Black Rock Yacht Club on your right. A short walk down the drive will provide you with a view of the boat ramp and the yacht club car park. The Black Rock Yacht Club has a beautiful view from the restaurant or take a seat at the bar and watch the world go by.

Very good.

Over all very happy with it. We where 3 adult couples staying for a week. The apartment had everything we needed to have a comfortable week. Can recomend it to others.

On a little side note it would have been nice if we where provided with consumables like dishwashing powder to last us for a week. And the selection of "sharp" knifes was very blunt and nearly unusable. It was also missing a bread knife.

I still recomend it highly to however wants to rent it

Good for a family, shame about all of the signs

My sister and her family stayed here when they came to visit us from overseas.

The property was good with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The rest of the property was a little dated but overall it was good value for money.

The location was ok because they had a car, as it's a bit of a walk to Black Rock village. Fine for adults but a bit far for a four year old. That said, Black Rock village and the beach are fantastic.

The downside of this stay was the signs on the property threatening to fine guests for not putting bins out, resetting the router etc. While I understand the owners need to communicate this, it made the property feel unwelcoming and could have been done by email or in a much more friendly manner.

I was also charged $250 a few weeks before check in after already paying for the entire stay. The owner refunded this promptly (after a few phone calls and having to provide proof). Apparently someone else with my first name should have been charged this money. I get that mistakes are made but it was frustrating and made us nervous about paying in advance. There were no further issues though.

Great little villa

We were visiting family in Sandringham and this little villa was great accommodation just around the corner. Whilst it's a little tired overall, we had everything we needed, it was clean, the garden was lovely and the heating worked well (important for Queenslanders in Melbourne winter!). We will be back for sure.

great for a crowd

very clean and stocked with products for our use, dishwashing liquid etc which was great, very handy to the bayside area. A little traffic noise now and then but nothing that really worried us.

Modest, well equipped unit - for adults.

We stayed in this property on a beach weekend with the grandparents. It is well located one block away from the lovely Half Moon Bay. The positive features were the attention paid to detail - (well stocked kitchen, books for reading as examples) and courtyard that made a convenient play area for the children. The down side was that although there were adequate bedroom numbers the living area and kitchen were both tiny. Really the living space is not large enough for families with young children if the weather is poor. Unfortunately the bedroom adjacent to the living space - which would have opened the area up was locked. I spoke to the owner about this who correctly advised me that my booking arrangement had only been for 3 bedrooms (Read your booking confirmation carefully - I had thought we were getting a 4 bedroom house!). Although he agreed to unlock the door he harshly warned me that he would charge me an extra $100 if it looked at all like the kids had touched the bed in the bedroom. He also advised me that he usually charges an extra $150 to unlock this door if advised to do so within 7 days of arrival. This interaction left me very uneasy (would we suddenly have a much higher bill?) and so we left the door locked as we decided better safe than sorry.

Owner's Response: Dear Danielle Thank-you for your comments. It comes as no surprise that you felt that the living area and the kitchen were too small. You booked a four bedroom Villa and not a house and rooms are made available as per your booking request. As a matter of fact the kitchen is larger than most new 4 bedroom is 2.5 x 2.8 meters which by all standards is considered a large space.The living area is 4 x 7 meters which again is substantial. As for the rooms issue. First of all on the first page of STAYZ website clearly states that you will be provided the rooms and associated facilities as per your booking request" so I do feel that it was inappropriate for you to think that you were getting four bedrooms when you had paid for 3. Moreover, you made your reservation inquiry on 29 September and was provided with a detailed booking sheet with all terms and conditions before you decided to pay. At no time you requested that you would have a infant with you and would like to have an extra room to place your porta cot. I think it is very unfair on your part to demand a extra room free of charge specially when you were an after hour arrival.Hence we provide you the late check in instructions to facilitate your check in Your booking sheet has a a caption stating. IMPORTANT:PLEASE SPARE A MOMENT TO READ OUR TERM AND CONDITIONS Please see below condition 7,8,9 and 18 which explains all 7. Please note that if you require an extra bedroom other than the one initially booked during your stay ( Queen bed for a couple or two singles for two guests) there will be an extra charge of $25.00/ single bed and 50.00/ queen bed / night (for one or two persons) for full duration of the stay. Also note that the only bedrooms made available in the accommodation are as per your booking request including extra facilities that are relevant to the use by the guests. 8. At no time number of guests should exceed the number stated on the confirmation notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. No additional guests are allowed during the term of the occupancy unless otherwise agreed with the management. 9.Please be informed that we do not allow guests checking in and out in changing numbers during the term of booking. If extra bedrooms are made available they are charged for the full term of the booking based on the occupancy.
