Tucked away in the ancient rainforest is the village of Kuranda - home to the Indigenous Djabugay people.
Your totally private space is located in a quiet cul-de-sac street just outside the village which is easily accessible by car, bicycle or on foot. You will have your own bathroom and kitchenette complete with bar fridge, microwave and cutlery & crockery for two. Your deck is the perfect bird-spotting location early in the morning as you have breakfast or late in the afternoon after a day of sightseeing and exploring the bounties of the area.
Some of our favourite activities to do within a short distance of our home include: walking the rainforest boardwalk to both the village and the Barron Falls, feeding the exotic birds at the Bird Sanctuary, admiring the koalas at the Koala Gardens, cruising the Barron River on a riverboat and enjoying all the 'fruits' that the village cafes, restaurants and pubs have to offer.
Your Kuranda accommodation is well positioned - central to the Great Barrier Reef for day trips out in the Coral Sea snorkelling or diving as well to the Cattana Wetlands for serious ornithological experiences. Down the mountain you can comfortably get to the exquisite northern beaches - Palm Cove is stunning and why not visit Yorkey's Knob boat club! You are also well within travelling range to the Atherton Tablelands and its waterfalls, walking tracks, picnic areas and parklands.
Casa Kuranda is the ideal resting and sleeping space for you in this idyllic part of Australia, that we, fortunately, get to call home. Nuestra Casa es tu casa!
All photos provided here have been taken by us.
One request we ask of you is to remove your shoes on entry to the room in order to keep the space clean.
For your laundry needs, there is a laundromat in the village next to the BP petrol station.
