We absolutely loved our stay at Frog Hollow Lake House and are already planning to return. The house was immaculate, in the most beautiful lakeside setting, so private and peaceful. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and every detail had been thought of, fresh home baked bread, local organic produce, even a Christmas tree!

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We recently had an incredible 3 days and 2 nights celebrating our first year anniversary at the lakehouse. Firstly the location is great, nestled into the picturesque Blue Nob, just outside of Nimbin. Sunny and warm one minute then raining and cool the next. Peaceful, green and lush. From the moment we walked through the door the attention to detail was obvious. The property was spotlessly clean and smelled of the fresh flowers Kerry had scattered brightly about the rooms. As we both love cooking when we are away, kitchens really matter to us. Well, Kerry and Barry had thoughtfully stocked the fridge and pantry with chocolate, bubbly, flavoured olive oils, homemade chutneys and jams, home baked bread not to mention the incredible homegrown, organic produce and amazing breakfast platters. Foodie heaven. Although the kitchen stove top is gas, and fantastic to cook on, there is no oven at the property. We had brought a leg of lamb to roast so decided to cook it on the BBQ, out on the back deck, while the sun set across the lake. Sometimes you just gotta make do....It was delicious. The lakehouse utilises space and light so well that you feel like you are surrounded by water and although it features lots of glass which adds to the feeling of space, we felt like we had complete privacy. Kerry and Barry live on another part of the property but are very accessible if you should want or need anything. With a surprising depth of 15 metres, the lake attracts an array of wildlife including wallabies, cheeky sunset ghost bats and various fish which can be caught, cooked and eaten with the fishing gear supplied. If you know how to fresh water fish. Which it seems we do not. Never mind, you can calm your frustrations in the outdoor jacuzzi. We slept incredibly well both nights thanks to the lovely linen, king size bed and thoughtful addition of black out blinds. Although the sunrise is worth getting up for. The bedroom also features air-conditioning and a fireplace so that you can find the perfect temperature to match the changeable weather. If you are looking for the perfect peaceful and romantic getaway where you want for nothing and you really only need bring clothes (there are also robes and slippers in the bedroom closet - they really thought of everything) then we highly recommend a few days at Frog Hollow Lake House. We can't wait to go back and catch some fish.

Fantastic Friendly Relaxing Luxury Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazingly relaxing stay here it was fantastic! Kerry was so welcoming and friendly, we felt at home straight away. All the lovely little extra touches are just so thoughtful. The first two days we stayed were rainy which just added to the coziness of the lovely Lakehouse. Was lovely to sit rain or shine and watch the ducks, other water birds, turtles and wallabies go about their day. The spa was heavenly! Looking out over the lake or looking at the stars in the evening! We loved everything and we will be back!

A truly unique paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed in dozens of luxury cabins both in the area and around the country, nothing has even come close to Frog Hollow. Everything was so well thought out to make our time here as relaxing and peaceful as possible. The owners were friendly and bent over backwards for us, the cabin is fitted out with no expense spared and the setting is absolutely perfect.

Waking to a gorgeous sunrise over the nearby mountains, we started our mornings with fresh coffee and feeding the turtles from the deck. Lazing in the sun or swimming in the lake during the day, cooking a BBQ in the evening and then curling up for movies and wine at night, it really doesn't get much better.

I cannot recommend Frog Hollow highly enough, it may even be worth travelling all the way from Melbourne again just to stay here.

It's all the little personal touches

  • 5 of 5

What a unique place is Frog Hollow Lake House.

While the cottage itself is beautifully designed and furnished, built out like it's floating over a small lake, it was the personal touches provided by hosts Kerry and Barry that make the place truly unique: a kitchen stocked with home made and home grown fresh produce (such as yummy eggplant chutney, tomato salsa, fresh bread baked daily, fresh home laid eggs, home grown veges), as well as a huge variety of condiments and food items that guests are welcomed and encouraged to use; fresh flowers picked from the property in every room; early check in and late check out make you feel like you aren't being herded off to make way for the next lot of guests ; a cosy fireplace stocked with wood; a spa on the veranda with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains; a choice of three shower heads!; a lake full of fish you can catch and eat (if so inclined)!

Kerry is a great cook and hostess who made sure we had all we needed and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we arrived. While Kerry was attentive to our needs she also ensured our privacy. We've stayed in a few B&Bs and this was by far the best due to the personal touches from hosts Kerry and Barry.

Highly recommend this little cottage of luxury.
