Overview

Photos and Description of this Fairlight holiday townhome

Sunny 3 bedroom townhouse a two minute walk from Fairlight beach and 10 minutes walk to Manly ferry. The house has a large living/dining space which opens onto a secluded courtyard. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the walled courtyard with an outdoor setting, gas BBQ and herb garden is ideal for relaxing in private. The newly painted bedrooms are light and airy and the front rooms have access to a small balcony to catch the sea breeze and glimpse the famous Sydney Harbour heads.

Fairlight Beach, with its tidal rockpool is only half a block away. This sheltered harbour beach is popular with locals for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. Relax on the clean stretch of sand with the iconic view of Sydney Heads in the background, swim laps in the rockpool, or play with the kids in the children's pool. The excitement of Manly is only a 10 minute walk along the harbour foreshore. Explore the Corso, Manly Beach, stop for a coffee, or carry on to the national park at North Head. Be in the city in 30 minutes on the famous Manly Ferry, or 15 on the fast ferry, take in the sights of our harbour along the way and pass the Opera House before disembarking at Circular Quay. Local buses to Manly, Balgowlah and Warringah Mall shopping centres and Sydney from the top of the street.

The neighbourhood

Fairlight is a smallish suburb on Sydney Harbour, my home is in a quiet residential area but with easy access to our more famous neighbour, Manly. Fairlight Beach attracts locals and tourists alike with its clear, tranquil waters and the Manly to Spit Bridge Scenic Walkway passes the beach.

There is a local shopping strip at the top of the street with all the basic necessities; butcher, baker, bottle shop, chemist, small supermarket etc. The Butcher's Cafe has an excellent reputation amongst the locals!

If you are using public transport, apart from the ferries, buses are the other options here. There is a bus at the end of the block that will take you to the Stockland Shopping Centre at Balgowlah and then on to Warringah Mall. There is also a free bus service from and to Manly Wharf every half an hour. Buses to Mosman and then on to Sydney go from the top of the street. From Manly there are many buses to choose from, including those going further up the northern beaches peninsula.
