The Bush Hut @ Brooman

Bedrooms 1
Space 25 m²
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

The bush hut offers a cosy, romantic wilderness experience for those seeking comfort and privacy in a pristine environment just 33km from Milton.

There is nothing like the Bush Hut at Brooman. Built in the 1900's, the hut's decor is unique, filled with memorabilia. It is situated in uninterrupted wilderness on the deepest section of the fresh water Clyde River.

Our closest neighbors are kilometres away, a unique luxury this close to the coast. Relax knowing you don't have a neighbor in sight! We are just 15 minutes from Shallow Crossing and the Shoalhaven Blueberry Farm, not far to Pigeon House Mountain and the Castle bush walks, 25 minutes from beautiful Bawley beaches and 35 minutes from historical Milton and Ulladulla.

You will have an abundance of great walking options and your tariff includes direct, often private, access to the deepest section of the freshwater Clyde river. Pack a picnic and swim, kayak or just lay back under the ancient trees.

The hut is ideally configured for couples.

The hut is powered by solar lights. No digital / electrical distraction, though you can access your mobile calls / internet 20 metres up hill from the hut.

You are welcome to bring kayaks or canoes.Paddling up or down the mighty Clyde is an exhilarating experience- one not easily forgotten.

Fishing the Clyde is a lot of fun but you will need a current fishing license, available from fisheries online.

We respect your privacy, but should you need assistance our homestead is a km from the hut.

Please note a 3 day minimum booking is required over Easter.

Just the Tonic for the New Year.

  • 5 of 5

We had an exceptional stay at 'The Hut'. Julie's hospitality is spot on. We bumped into each other a few times and had a great chat (sometimes Brian the Donkey joined us too) but otherwise did our own thing. The river is something else too. Just Magic on a hot day!

Batemans Bay and Ulladulla are close enough for the obligatory espresso if needed (on the odd morning our stove top wasn't enough!) as well as any supplies we forgot.

It's an easy drive from Sydney and can't wait go back. Given the wood stove and fireplace, the hut should be perfect for the cooler months as well. Light the fire, put on a braise, read a book and just chill. Perfect.

It really is hard to fault the place and location

A memorable weekend

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful secluded little hut. It is just how the pictures portray it. So relaxing sitting on the front deck looking over the valley towards the Castle in the Budawangs enjoying a glass of champagne in the beautiful vintage champagne glasses! And the outdoor bath was so memorable- candles lit, the bath so so warm and a lovely drizzle of rain in the sky - it was magic. We loved our stay - thank you Bob and Julie and an extra special thank you to Brian the Donkey who is the sweetest of hosts! Suzie and Tony

A gorgeous cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderfully relaxing two days in the cottage. Gin and tonics on the balcony with a hard to beat view was certainly a highlight, as was kayaking on the Clyde River nearby. The cottage is very well set up (including with coffee and fresh eggs provided) and has very comfortable beds. It was lovely being somewhere so peaceful, with only bird sounds filling the air. We would definitely recommend it!

Perfect bush hideaway

  • 5 of 5

The bush cabin is authentic, clean and well catered with everything you need for a weekend away or a few nights of tranquility. The setting is spectacular with local walks, kayaking in the river and bawley point is only 15 mins away if you want to surf or swim at the beach. The huge fireplace is amazing. Brian the donkey and Toby the horse are fun to, great neighbours and they love their carrots. The hosts bob and Julie go out of their way to ensure you have a great time - bob even had to clear the dust road for us after a night of wild weather. We will be back to climb pigeon house mountain later in the winter.
