Absolutely perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place is amazing. The house is beautiful and easily accommodates 30 people, and the surrounding property is as tranquil as they come. The beds are comfortable, cooking facilities are ample and the fire pit is exactly what you want for any getaway with mates. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough for any group of people looking for a very comfortable and secluded holiday house.

Not a great stay.

What caught my eye in the brochure was the bbq facilities. With it raining two of the 3 days we weren't bothered much as we could have a feast in weekend. This was unfortunately not possible. The indoor extractor was so dirty it dust work and we quickly found out what a house full of smoke feels like. The bbq itself was filthy inside. there was two webbers onsite which I thought might be a good substitute as inside was no good. Unfortuanalty somebody before me thought the same and the bbq's where in disgraceful condition. I also wouldn't want to be there in the summer as all the fly screens are damaged and thorn. WE ALSO DISCOVERED WE HAD MORE VISITORSWHEN WE FOUND RATS WALKING AROUND IN THE HOUSE. Overall the place needs some attention and a good clean. Not fair that they charge for a $150 cleaning fee and then give you a filthy place to begin with. I won't go again and won't recommend it either.

Owner's Response: Hi Eric, We are disappointed to hear of these negative experiences, and surprised to hear your thoughts on the cleanliness as our new cleaner is very thorough. Lisa (the booker of your stay) has informed us the house was overall quite clean it was just the BBQ's that brought down the standard. The range hood for the entertaining kitchen normally works very well. Our maintenance guy sometimes puts some weights on top of the flaps for the outside vents in rough weather to prevent any damage and he may have forgotten to remove them. I would say this is the most likely cause for this issue as the vents themselves are very difficult to block completely. We apologise for the inconvenience. The webbers are rarely used and are sometimes neglected. We generally leave them for the guests to use as they please but we will have them looked at. The rat is a surprising sight in the house. We have spent a lot of time making the house as pest proof as possible and employ pest controllers to regularly treat and inspect the property. Generally the only way a pest that size can get inside is when a door is left open. This may not have even been from your visit but we will make sure it is removed. Once again thank you for your feedback. We hope you find our response satisfactory. We do spend a lot of time and money to make sure the property is to an appropriate standard. This is sometimes difficult with it being remote and situated farmland and with just 6 hours allowed for a turnaround ($150 cleaning) but we believe that our reputation is very important. Kind regards Ayla Wilde.

soooo big!!

  • 5 of 5

so much room for everyone to spread out inside and so much walking and riding to be done outside! we had a very relaxing time. The owners were most helpful with our inquiries and we would love to come back when the weather is a bit better (have already spread the word on FB! ) ...... the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars for quality is the batteries were dead for tv and heating and the locks and hand rails needs some tlc in the bathrooms ... other than that if you need a relaxing getaway - stay here :)

Our group of 20 loved the warm, welcoming house and the beautiful surrounding property. No-one wanted to leave. We will all definitely be returning for another family getaway.

Lovely large property for a large group

  • 4 of 5

We were a large group of 14 including kids and this farm stay suited us perfectly, Josh even arranged a good supply of lovely dry firewood for our stay in June. Toasting marshmallows was very popular.
