☀️☀️🏖 TIME TO GET SOME REAL TIME AWAY.🏖🏖☀️☀️
😩😱 SICK OF ISO......WE’VE GOT YOU COVID. 😂😱😂
☀️☀️🏖🏖 SECURE YOUR BEACH BREAK🏖🏖☀️☀️

We are a well-travelled family who have learnt along the way all the things that good family accommodation needs. We invite you to stay in a reasonably priced 1940's Mount Gambier stone house that is clean, safe and welcoming.
Beds and plenty of them.
The front room has bunks that sleep 5 and an extra trundle for 1 more. The master bedroom is a Queen for 2 and there is a fold down couch in the Lounge for 2 more if needs be. Of course there is a portacot for the little one.
A Kitchen to Create.
Not just one plate each and a pan that burns everything. Coasting has a well equipped kitchen for creating an intimate meal for 2 or a feast for the whole family.
Sit back and relax.
The light and airy Lounge with its comfy couch and LCD TV is the perfect place to catch up on some DVD's, plug in your iPod to the stereo and unwind with a wine or read a book from our collection. The Dining table and board games make this room a family focal point and the combustion heater will provide the warmth on those chilly Winter nights. We will supply some initial wood and more can be purchased from the General store in Port Mac or other outlets in Mount Gambier
Howzat!
The Garbage bins are pre-painted with stumps and the entertaining area is well placed to cheer on a kids versus parents cricket match. Cook up a storm with the BBQ on the deck or boil those Cray's from the Seafood Co-op in town for a delicious break between innings. The back fence is six and out, over the roof is just plain naughty. The back yard is fully fenced and pets are welcome by negotiation. Pets are allowed outside only as some of our guests have allergies. A dog house is provided.
Down and Dirty.
The Bathroom has a shower and a bath for post-game, post surf, post bushwalk clean-up and a washing machine for those fishy, we smell like bait clothes! Bath Towels are provided.

Locality

Out and About.
Had enough relaxation and need to get out? The beach is 100m's away, so is the golf course, the Jetty is 200m's away, so is the Pub. There are walking tracks and paths for bicycles and prams. There's a skate park and a Museum. Periwinkle Café for a Latte or some Minimum chips near the playground. A boat ramp is close and the breakwater makes for safe launching every time.
Further Afield.
Mount Gambier has it's Blue lake wonderful parklands while Mount Schank has an extinct cinder cone with a circuit walk around the rim. There are wines to be tasted in the Coonawarra region just North of Mount Gambier and Margaret Rose Caves are just down the road near Nelson. Piccinini ponds, a world famous fresh water cave system is available to dive or snorkel year round and scuba gear can be rented in Port MacDonnell. Sand Dunes and craggy cliffs dot the coast all the way to Robe on the way to the Coorong.
Life's a Beach?
You can surf, swim, snorkel and snooze all on a beach you can park your car on only 4 minutes' drive away. There are coves for exploring and beaches for beachcombing and penguins who come home at dusk to watch. You can fish with the Rods we will leave for you or bring your own. There are boogie boards and snorkels for your use as well. Scuba diving or fishing for BluefinTuna can be organised through Charters.

Unfortunately was left disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay
We have previously stayed at the property late December a couple years ago and were quite happy with our stay at that time. Unfortunately this was not the case this stay and the property doesn’t seem to have received any love since that time, and needs some attention and maintenance to be up to an air bnb stay standard. It was extremely strong mould and musk smelling, which was very off-putting during the stay. The kitchen, draws, cupboards, cooking supplies and fridge were dirty and not up to standard. Probably the worse were the mosquito infestation at night. It appeared no one had been through to open up the house recently and that there wasn’t adequate outside screens on the bedroom wall vents which allowed multiple mosquitoes inside the house, in which us and our young children got bitten alive overnight and had to buy our own spray and repellent system. I was disappointed to read very similar reviews earlier in the year, in which the owner wrote would attend to the mould smell and cleaning concerns, but it was obvious nothing had been done since, which left for an unenjoyable stay for our young family over this time. We won’t be staying in this property again for this reason.

Dirty & Mouldy
Whilst I understand that the house is old and a bit run down, for the money we paid including a cleaning fee the least you can expect is for it to be clean. There is a very strong dusty/musty smell ( reminded us of the smell in Mumbai) throughout and the carpets are badly stained. There was furry mould in all the kitchen drawers and the cooking utensils were dirty with old food and mould. The corners of the rooms had dead bugs on the floors and skirting boards were filthy. The fridge was dirty with spills still on the shelves. The window sills were very dirty and covered in bugs. The blinds were dirty. Quite a few other little things also spoilt our stay eg. clocks don't work, TV remote didn't work ( we bought new batteries ourselves but it still didn't work) a couple of light switches in the lounge room don't work, one was taped off but the other one gave off a spark when my daughter switched it on. There was only a few sheets of paper and half a firelighter to start the fire so after that we had to source some more paper and kindling ourselves and we have stocked it up for the next people who arrive. The toilet is located in a lean-to out the back so make sure you wear shoes for any late night visits cos the floors were covered in bugs. I have photos of the dirt and mould but am unable to upload them on this page. A lot more effort needs to be put into cleaning if you are going to charge people to stay at your home, this was our first family holiday in a long time and sadly the state of this home really disappointed us and obviously we wont be back :(

I Grew up in Naracoorte approx 90 mins north and would spend a lot of time with Dad and my brothers fishing in Port Mac. It still has the small town charm of way back then.

Why they chose this property

The house is 2 streets back from the beach and strategically 300 metres from the water, 300 metres from the golf club and 300 metres from the pub. The perfect triangle.

What makes this property unique

Sit on the deck with a beverage, play some backyard cricket or just enjoy the sun and gentle breeze all with the sounds of the beach in the background.
