Jasper Falls Cottage,near Nymboida

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

'Jasper Falls Cottage' is a cosy cottage located right on the Nymboida river. The northern facing verandah is looking out over the approach of 'Jasper Falls'.

The cottage is 'studio style, the queen bed is in one corner and separated from the living area by screens.

An extra double bed or 2 single beds can be added in the living area if requested.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge and gas stove.

There are ceiling fans to keep you cool in summer and a wood fired slow combustion heater to keep you warm in winter.

The pool table is an added feature appreciated by many of our guests.

Dogs are allowed on the property but not inside the cottage.

Nymboida is in the Northern Rivers, approx. 35 km's from Grafton at the foot of the hills which rise to the Dorrigo Plateau. There are several National Parks and a wilderness area nearby which are great for bushwalking etc. but the main attraction is the pristine Nymboida river, which is a favourite with fishermen, canoeists, kayakers...

which are attracted by the presence of bass, catfish, endangered eastern cod (catch and release only), turtles, platypi, rapids, birds....

Fishermen please note: We are strong believers in 'catch and release ', this way the fish stocks aren't depleted and more people can enjoy the sport.

Please note: Annual fishing closure to protect Eastern Freshwater Cod issued by the DPI as follows:

Anglers are reminded the annual three month fishing closure of the Mann and Nymboida Rivers and their tributaries came into effect 1 August to 31 October 2015.

The Mann-Nymboida sub catchment of the Clarence River has the only known, remaining wild, naturally reproducing population of Eastern Freshwater Cod.

The closed waters include the Mann River and all of its tributaries upstream of its junction with the Clarence River (which includes the Boyd, Sara and Guy Fawkes Rivers) and the Nymboida River and all of its tributaries from its junction with the Mann River upstream to Platypus Flat. The closure does not apply to notified trout waters, which are regulated separately.

The cottage is located on 'Blackadder', a cattle breeding property with cows, horses, a very friendly dog and a couple of cats approx. 15 km's north-west of Nymboida overlooking the Nymboida river. It is a beautiful secluded area.. There is one house nearby where we live, the next neighbour is 2 km's away. We are here to help you with whatever you may need but will let you have all the privacy you could want.

Access is via an unsealed road (not suitable for sports cars). We also have a heli pad and an airstrip suited to small aircraft.

We have no mobile phone reception, there is a fixed phone in the cottage our guests can use (no international calls).

We have satellite internet in the house which can be accessed for urgent business.

The cottage is located at 'Jasper Falls' in section 2 of the Clarence Canoe & Kayak Trail – the longest white water trail in Australia! (It covers more than 195 km of river between the Nymboi-Binderay National Park and the township of Copmanhurst encompassing the Nymboida, Mann and Clarence river systems. It offers spectacular scenery, an abundance of wildlife and some exhilarating whitewater adventure!

Great swimming and paddling! Fun exploring the property and seeing the cows and horses, the kids especially loved the dog. Cabin was comfortable with everything you need. Best location, remote and peaceful. Can't wait to go back! (Jan 2018)

Everything one could hope for in a cottage by a wild, beautiful river. Very well run and looked after, completely satisfied and will be coming back.

Superb location, great cottage

  • 5 of 5

Great cottage, very comfortable, rustic but has everything you need, loved the fireplace, and the pool table (!), outstanding location, beautiful stretch of river, isolated, surrounding cattle property is maintained to a very high standard. It’s a fun drive off the main road through good bush and central to some amazing day trips into surrounding National Parks. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable accommodation. Thick doona and extremely good bed! Fabulous fire which kept us ver cosy. Magnificent views, so relaxing to sit on deck and watch the river and bird life. The night sky was awesome. Eva and Ken were great hosts, very welcoming. They could not have done more to make this visit more perfect. We will be back.
