About this property

HYAMS BEACH HIDEAWAY

50m bush walk to the beautiful white sands and clear water of Hyams Beach! Hyams Beach Hideaway offers a well appointed 2 bedroom villa with all the comforts of home. You can relax in the courtyard overlooking the beautiful garden and native bush and watch the birds or be as active as you like. We (Vicki and Martin) are long time residents of Hyams Beach so have both an intimate knowledge of and deep love for the area. For your information and enjoyment there is an activity folder divided into different areas both local and further afield. There is also dining and shopping information as well as ideas for wet weather activities (very handy if you have children).

The villa itself is in a block of 5 but is private and secluded and, we believe, the best property location in Hyams Beach (and we live at the other end of the village!) Once you arrive you can settle in and relax. Even on the busiest of days Hyams Beach Hideaway is like an oasis. Listen to the waves, feed the birds and enjoy the bush setting.

To help get your break off to a good start we offer a Couples Breakfast Package. This package will be there when you arrive ready to make or cook at your leisure on your first morning. The package comprises fresh Hyams Beach free range eggs (ours), small loaf of homemade bread, tomatoes, bacon, butter and condiments, muesli, seasonal fruit, milk and juice. We would suggest there is enough there for 2 meals! The price is a very reasonable $15 a head and well worth it. Just request with your milk preference (light, skim or full cream) and leave cash at the villa for this service.

Need a night out without children? Vicki can offer babysitting (subject to availability) in the evening at the villa. I am a qualified mothercraft nurse and an early childhood and primary teacher (still actively working part time). I have the NSW Working with Children and certificate, first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training. Just ask when inquiring or ring or email when you have booked.

The villa is self contained and offers lots of extras to make your stay relaxing and fun. It is quiet and peaceful with just the birds and the waves yet so close to the main beach.

The Village and Surrounding Areas
The villa (and the village) are surrounded by Jervis Bay National and Marine Parks. Swim, snorkel dive, fish, kayak or just walk on the beautiful beaches. The waters of Jervis Bay are crystal clear and attract a myriad of sea life including dolphins, seals and seasonal whales. Hyams Beach is renowned throughout the world as a top spot for diving where you may see a giant cuttlefish or a leafy sea dragon. The village is very small (and can never be expanded) with 3 separate beaches.

The Hyams Beach Cafe is a short stroll away and is renowned for its coffee and food. Many people do the bush walk from Vincentia and further afield to sample the hospitality excellent service and great food. They are open for evening meals during certain periods - check at the shop and make sure you book!

We have a new shopping centre (Woolworths Aldi etc.), Vincentia Marketplace at the Vincentia roundabout and Coles and other stores at the corner of Elizabeth Drive and The Wool Road Vincentia

Huskisson is a 15 minute drive and is the hub for bay cruises, restaurants and cafes as well as a cinema and the Jervis Bay Maritime Musem (Lady Denman), clubs and the Husky Pub (The Huskisson). Well worth a visit.

Please read the reviews on HomeAway - we pride ourselves on maintaining a very high standard for our villa.

Wonderful place so close to the beach
We loved our short break at Hyams Beach. It is one of the best beaches in Australia and Vicki and Martin's place is really comfortable/homely and well equipped with everything you need. Highly recommend!

Fantastic location
A clean cottage of old fashioned charm, in an excellent location, only moments from beautiful Hyams beach. So close to Booderee National Park too & many more beautiful beaches & great walks. Excellent communication with hosts Vicki & Martin, who were very accommodating when we had to amend our booking to attend a funeral.

Lovely beach getaway nestled in nature
This property was absolutely delightful, was very clean and had everything you need for a holiday, including bird seed to feed the lovely native birds, which was a real treat for us. We loved having such a short stroll through the beautiful Australian bushland to a pristine beach. Our only regret is only booking for two nights. Can't wait to come back.

About the host

We have lived in the village of Hyams Beach having chosen it as an ideal location to bring up our children. We both have a love of the natural environment and really appreciate the idyllic location in which we live. We reside at the northern end of the village with our home backing onto NSW National Park. Hyams Beach Hideaway is located at the southern end of the village. Martin was a manager in nearby Booderee National Park for 32 years prior to his retirement (you'll see a book he co-authored at the villa). He has a PhD in Marine Biology studying the little penguins that reside on an island in Jervis Bay. I am a teacher with a Master's Degree specialising in Early Childhood. I work as a casual teacher at TAFE.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property so we could keep and share some very special items we have used to furnish, decorate and equip the villa with everything you may need. We are sure you will appreciate our eclectic yet practical inclusions!

What makes this property unique

Hyams Beach can get very busy with day trippers in the summer months. Hyams Beach Hideaway offers a very peaceful quiet setting within walking distance of what attracts people to our very special world renowned location. Once you arrive, you park your car and don't need to travel anywhere if you don't want. No car parking problems and beautiful unspoilt beaches and bushwalks. Watch the sun rise over Point Perpendicular as the dolphins swim lazily by! But if you want more it's not far away. Booderee National Park is an amazing place located in Jervis Bay Territory. Owned by the local Aboriginal Community of Wreck Bay it offers everything from beautiful beaches and bush walks to surfing and an amazing botanic gardens. Well worth a visit. Need restaurants and night life - Huskisson is a 15 minute drive away. An activity pack is located in the villa and even has ideas for wet weather activities for children.
