Mulloway House at Brooklyn was the original Hawkesbury River fisheries office until 2007 and now offers an affordable accommodation option for families, friends and couples who visit the village of Brooklyn, situated on the gateway to the Hawkesbury River.
Brooklyn is a safe, sleepy riverside fishing village totally surrounded by beautiful national parks and is only 1 hour away from the Sydney CBD by train or car.
Brooklyn's unique location allows you to enjoy the laid back riverside lifestyle whilst in town but then has the close proximity to SYDNEY with all the big city attractions that it has to offer all in one visit.
Mulloway House has 4 bedrooms in which 2 bedrooms have Queen size beds and the other 2 bedrooms contain a double bed & a single bunk in each room. (sleeps 10)
The kitchen and bathroom have been recently renovated and the addition of the entertaining deck makes bringing home the catch of the day and putting it on the BBQ even more enjoyable. All you need to bring is linen, food and beverages. Linen can be provided at an additional cost.
The Mulloway property has ample space for parking a large boat or Caravan attached to your vehicle, so if your here for the weekend fishing and you want a hassle free early morning start you can literally be at the boat ramp within 3 minutes from leaving the front door or if you have multiple cars, caravan etc....in your group to accommodate there is plenty of room.

750 meters east of Mulloway house (walking distance) is the centre of the village where you will find the Brooklyn Public wharf (Riverboat Postman and Dangar Island ferry boarding wharf) , Hawkesbury River Railway station, Hawkesbury River Marina, 6 Restaurants/ Cafes and The Anglers Rest (Pub), the meeting place for friendly locals in Brooklyn.
100 meters West of Mulloway House is Brooklyn Park, which offers a skate ramp, complimentary Tennis courts, play area, BBQ facilities and the Brooklyn River and Foreshore Boardwalk.
Mulloway House is close enough to everything however you feel like you are a million miles away from all the City hustle and bustle.
Other great family day out options are a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village you have the choice of either lower McKell Park, which is adjacent to the river with a playground, swimming baths and great fishing areas or Upper McKell Park which has stunning views over the mouth of the Hawkesbury River, Dangar Island & Parsley Bay. They both have great picnic areas with sheltered BBQ facilities and each area has toilet amenities.
These two popular areas are apart of the Federation Walk which leads around Flat Rock Point to Parsley Bay where you can watch all the pelicans greet the fisherman with their daily catch at the local boat ramp.
For the foodies you have the option of experiencing the Hawkesbury rivers finest restaurants at either the brand new beautiful ESTUARY restaurant and function centre at kangaroo point which many say has the best view on the entire North shore of Sydney and is now open for Breakfast or Lunch (eat in or Takeaway) and is located only 2Km west of Mulloway house accessible by car & courtesy bus or PEATS BITE at Sunny corner with also wonderful food, entertainment and a spectacular location. It is boat access only and will be a full day of great memories.
Other fantastic popular options is the Anglers restaurant at the Anglers Rest Hotel in the heart of the village where you will find great food, a friendly atmosphere and only a short walk (or pub courtesy Bus available ) from Mulloway house or try the Mooney Mooney Workers Club, 4Km North of Brooklyn which also offers a complimentary bus service back to and from Mulloway House & Brooklyn. The club has an awesome balcony overlooking spectacle island and the Hawkesbury river with modern décor. Facilities include bowls, restaurant, bar food, children's play ground, Tab, eftpos, pokies, cold beer, views and entertainment most weekend.
Brooklyn Village is 1 hr from the Sydney CBD and Newcastle, 30 minutes from Gosford and is able to be accessed by vehicle, boat, rail, bus and seaplane. Brooklyn is surrounded by the National Parks and is situated on the beautiful Hawkesbury River.
There are bush walks, The great North Walk, cruises, ferry trips to historic Dangar Island, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs, fishing, boat hire, tennis courts, golf courses only 15 mins away, bowls, playgrounds, picnic and BBQ areas near child friendly swimming baths, boat ramps, beautician and massage the list goes on….
Staying in Brooklyn gives you access to all of the above, plus the general store, bottle shop, pharmacy, art galleries, post office and train station. The pub and post office provide eftpos facilities if needed.
