About gaye scott

We both grew up in Melbourne and travelled to Cairns in the mid 1980s. We lived and worked in Cairns for 20 years before moving to Daintree Village. We currently manage a cattle property and holiday lodge 7 kilometres up the road from our house.

Why gaye scott chose Daintree

The Daintree Village community is small with just 120 people. The local school has 12 children. There are two main industries. Tourism which is based around the Daintree River and a number of locals run cruises and cattle. The Daintree valley is lush and green all year round. Cattle are bred in the outback and are brought to Daintree for fattening up. It is a lovely rural community.

We loved our visit. The deck is perfect, loved the large open kitchen and the surrounding nature is incredible. The owners are lovely to deal with and left many thoughtful touches throughout the property.

Amazing location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Upper Daintree house for 3 nights and it was lovely. What an amazing view of the daintree river, and the waterfall pass that came with our stay just a short drive and walk from the house was absolutely stunning! Close to the Daintree Village where u can book tours get on a croc cruise or have a lovely meal at the pub or bakery.
