**Nine Steps signature experiences**

Private chef and fine dining experience

Nine Steps offers a private chef experience - Nat creates a three course fine dining experience with local produce, full table service and takes care of all the cleaning up. Nine Steps has a 3.7 metre long dining table and a fully equipped kitchen, so why not add a private dinner experience to your special occasion, girls weekend, family gathering or cycling weekend.

Private yoga class experience

The large 'great room' is perfect for a private yoga class, or experience a beautiful yoga practice outside in the 29 acre grounds of Nine Steps. Our yoga teacher can cater for all levels and will structure a practice to suit your needs.

Alpine Concierge Services

To make your stay at Nine Steps even more memorable, imagine arriving to a hamper of local produce for breakfast or dinner. Or perhaps you need help organising a romantic occasion, or special event. Alpine Concierge Services can create a bespoke experience just for you.

**The house**

Nine Steps is a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, as well as a smaller second lounge.

The house is designed so guests are sheltered from the weather, while still feeling a part of the environment. Large picture windows are a key feature of the house, along with the many covered decks.

Nine Steps is separated into two pavilions - the bedroom and bathroom pavilion and the lounge/dining/kitchen pavilion. The pavilions are connected by a central deck and glass atrium.

The 'great room' is a stunning open plan space containing the kitchen/lounge/dining. With exposed steel frame and ply paneled walls - it is designed for family gatherings and cosy weekends away.

Picture windows take in views of the bush land and the feature cathedral glass doors and windows look up to the granite face of Mt Buffalo. The large glass doors slide open to a covered deck with Weber BBQ and outdoor dining table.

The great room has a large wood burner, air-conditioning and three ceiling fans, as well as opening windows to catch the breeze and cooler evening air.

The fully equipped cooks kitchen is set around an island bench with bar stools - perfect whether you're preparing breakfast or enjoying some cheese and wine.

**The environment**

Nine Steps was built to be environmentally friendly with a 6 star energy rating. We're also members of our local Landcare Group and the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Nine Steps was built to meet or exceed the BAL29 standards (BAL - bushfire attack level). The frame is made from steel, the decks are clad with villa-board and the windows and glass doors meet the higher BAL40 standards.

Nine Steps is self-sufficient for water - collecting rain water and spring water which is then treated via sediment and UV filters.

Nine Steps is set on 29 acres of bushland and backs onto the Mt Buffalo National Park - which means we have a variety of wildlife as neighbours. At night you can often spot deer, wombats and wallabies.

If you wander around the property you will see many wombat burrows and hear many birds (lots of kookaburras!).

Gorgeous country retreat

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful and the setting stunning.

Everything was very clean and tidy on arrival. Comfy beds and beautiful modern fit out. The fire was the highlight for us. We arrived late at night in the cold and lit the fire. By morning the house was toasty warm and stayed that way all weekend.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Nine Steps is a well appointed property, making for an easy, enjoyable stay as we breathed in the fresh mountain air and feasted on the beautiful landscapes of the surrounding areas.

We especially loved how easy it was to disconnect from the noise of technology! A wonderful opportunity to unwind.

A unique home in a great location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great 3 night stay at Nine Steps. The house itself is terrific - overall very comfortable, well insulated from heat or cold and immaculately clean. It's set in a magnificent location with great views of the surrounding bush. Easily accessible to Mount Buffalo where there are heaps of varied, interesting walks and to the gorgeous town of Bright. Our only complaint was that we all found the beds to be extremely hard! I tried adding blankets to soften the bedding but eventually slept on the couch! Other than that we would highly recommend Nine Steps.

Owner's Response: Thanks Mary, so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Nine Steps and beautiful Bright! Though the beds were firmer than you prefer, I'm glad you made use of our relaxed 'sink into' leather couches! We look forward to you visiting again.

Nine steps to a perfect escape

  • 5 of 5

Dusting off the drive from Melbourne with a glass of local wine, seated on one of the nine front steps for which this remarkable property is named, I knew we were in for a great weekend. Surrounded by the smell of eucalypts, snuggled up to the base of Mt Buffalo, Nine Steps dared us to stop, switch off and recharge.

Waking up the first morning, it was so peaceful and very difficult to leave the super comfy beds; but there were parrots to feed and a creek to explore before heading off to taste our way through the King Valley.

Lucky there's a huge table that just begs to have friends feasting around it. We hunted and gathered from Bright to Beechworth and we made great use of the very well-appointed kitchen all weekend. The owners even gave us a recommendation for a wonderful local chef, and turning the kitchen over to her added something extra special - and great fun - to our escape.

Channeling my inner Grand Designs voice for a sec... the house is a really clever transformation of a big 'tin shed' into an artful, luxurious, welcoming space that had everything this girls' weekend required. Thank you, we'll be back!
