Overview

About the property

Nine Steps is a brand new architect designed home - and a unique luxury interpretation of the traditional Australian shed.

Set on 29 acres at the base of Mt Buffalo, gaze out at the native bushland from every window, or sit by the fire looking up at the granite face of Mount Buffalo.

At the end of a day of adventure, or wine and relaxation in the surrounding area, drift off to sleep counting the stars from your comfy bed.

With no TV reception and limited mobile phone reception - it's a digital detox and opportunity to really relax...

Nine Steps has everything you need for your stay with linen, towels and toiletries provided, heating and cooling, fully equipped kitchen (including a Nespresso machine) and plenty of parking for bikes and cars.

Room configuration:

Bedroom 1 - queen bed, deck & ensuite

Bedroom 2 - queen bed, deck & door into main bathroom

Bedroom 3 - two single beds

Wombats, wallabies and kookaburras are included for free.

Our house rules:

- Nine Steps is a non-smoking house.

- No pets sorry.

- Small outdoor campfires are only permitted on days with a low-moderate fire risk rating.

- Check in from 3pm & check out by 11am to allow time to prepare Nine Steps for the next guests.

- Please leave the house clean and tidy on departure.

Nine Steps signature experiences:

Private chef

Nine Steps offers a private chef experience - a three course meal with local produce, table service and you won't have to do any cleaning up afterwards! Nine Steps has a 3.7 metre long dining table and a fully equipped kitchen, so why not add a private dinner experience to your special occasion, girls weekend, family gathering or cycling weekend. See the gallery for examples of the delicious meals.

Private yoga class

The large 'great room' is perfect for a private yoga class, or experience a beautiful yoga practice outside in the 29 acre grounds of Nine Steps. Our yoga teacher can cater for all levels and will structure a practice to suit your needs.

The house:

Nine Steps is a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, as well as a smaller second lounge.

The house is designed so guests are sheltered from the weather, while still feeling a part of the environment. Large picture windows are a key feature of the house, along with the many covered decks.

Nine Steps is separated into two pavilions - the bedroom and bathroom pavilion and the lounge/dining/kitchen pavilion. The pavilions are connected by a central deck and glass atrium.

The 'great room' is a stunning open plan space containing the kitchen/lounge/dining. With exposed steel frame and ply paneled walls - it is designed for family gatherings and cosy weekends away.

Picture windows take in views of the bush land and the feature cathedral glass doors and windows look up to the granite face of Mt Buffalo. The large glass doors slide open to a covered deck with Weber BBQ and outdoor dining table.

The great room has a large wood burner, air-conditioning and three ceiling fans, as well as opening windows to catch the breeze and cooler evening air.

The fully equipped cooks kitchen is set around an island bench with bar stools - perfect whether you're preparing breakfast or enjoying some cheese and wine.

The environment:

Nine Steps was built to be environmentally friendly with a 6 star energy rating. We're also members of our local Landcare Group and the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Nine Steps was built to meet or exceed the BAL29 standards (BAL - bushfire attack level). The frame is made from steel, the decks are clad with villa-board and the windows and glass doors meet the higher BAL40 standards.

Nine Steps is self-sufficient for water - collecting rain water and spring water which is then treated via sediment and UV filters.

Nine Steps is set on 29 acres of bushland and backs onto the Mt Buffalo National Park - which means we have a variety of wildlife as neighbours. At night you can often spot deer, wombats and wallabies.

If you wander around the property you will see many wombat burrows and hear many birds (lots of kookaburras!).

Beautiful house surrounded by nature

  • 5 of 5

Our four night stay at Nine Steps was really great. The house is beautiful, clean and equipped with everything we needed. The property was large enough to explore and wander, we spotted a wallaby, wombat and kept the rosellas well fed with the bird seed provided. Recommend a stay at Nine Steps if you're looking to get back to nature.

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Nine Steps – perfect location just 10 minutes out of Bright, yet secluded and private, surrounded by bushland. The house is modern, spacious and cosy with very comfortable beds. Sitting around the outdoor campfire and star gazing was the best! We’ll be back!

Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay at Nine Steps - could have stayed forever. Amazing house - space for the whole extended family, all mod cons and positioned beautifully to take advantage of the natural beauty of the area. Had a fantastic time at the local pubs and thoroughly enjoyed day trips to Mount Buffalo. Close proximity to daytime outdoor activities for people with low-fitness level was also greatly appreciated! Arrived home feeling super relaxed and looking forward to our next visit.

Perfect accommodation and location

  • 5 of 5

This is a superb place to stay with every comfort yet secluded. The residence has been thoughtfully created and felt so pleasant. The proximity to Mt Buffalo.. right on the edge of the National Park ...the wildlife, the fresh mountain air and the stream to catch trout so close by. Excellent for a truly peaceful Xmas. Even a few Xmas goodies to welcome us! We all loved our stay!
