Absolute Beachfront at Mackerel Beach

Bedrooms 5
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 5 nights

Photos and Description of this Great Mackerel Beach holiday house

The Absolute Beachfront family home is an architecturally award winning property with stunning Pittwater views. The north-east position ensures all day sun and a cooling breeze in summer and protection in winter from the cooler southerly or westly wind.

There is no other place like Great Mackerel Beach (aka Mackerel Beach). It is like living in the country on the most beautiful sought after beach only 1 hours drive north of Sydney CBD.

Simply hang out, swim, soak up the views and relax with a good book or enjoy the company of your family and friends whilst over indulging in good food and wine.

For the more energetic there is plenty to do. Go bushwalking, bird watching, pack a picnic, fish off the beach or jetty, use the kayaks or stand-up paddle board, hirer a boat to go deep sea fishing, indulge yourselves in scenic seaplane flight, play a round of golf or learn to surf across the water at Palm Beach.

There are water views from every window, a huge eat-in chef's kitchen and a comfortable living room both open directly to a terrace, perfect for all day alfresco dining.

The front garden of the house leads directly onto the beach.

The children's cubby house on the front lawn house is made from treasured flotsam and jetsam salvaged from along the coastline.

The property is located on the western foreshore of Pittwater, opposite Palm Beach.

Access to the idyllic location in Ku-ring-gai National Park is by ferry or water taxi only. There are no cars at Mackerel Beach.

Brush turkeys, parrots, wallabies and all sorts of wildlife roam freely, so the lapping of waves is the only disruption to the peace and quiet.

The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are over 3 levels.

The kingsize bedroom and the queen size bedroom both have ensuite and shower. The twin room and two single rooms share a bathroom.

There is also a warm out shower by the Boatshed.

A fabulous eat-in chefs kitchen with quality appliances, equipment and cookware is often the preferred entertaining area. Don't forget your Nepresso coffee pods for the machine!

The adjacent comfortable living area, with pot belly fireplace opens directly onto the north-east facing deck, which is perfectly shaded if required from the sun.

There is an iPod docking station for your music, a new gas BBQ and pizza oven.

In the boatshed you will find 3 single kayaks & lifejackets, a stand-up paddle board, children beach toys and handheld fishing lines for your amusement.

Linen and bath towels are included as well as tea towels for the kitchen.

There is a compulsory end of stay cleaning fee for a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house. This does not included tidying up and returning books & games to order, or boathouse toys ready for use for the next guests. Please ensure you do. If you don't have time to clean the BBQ, please leave an additional $50 on the kitchen bench for the cleaners. This is what they charge! It will save us deducting the coat from your bond.

Access to the property

Great Mackerel Beach (aka Mackerel Beach) is 40km north of Sydney. Approximately 1 hours drive, and is located on the western foreshore or Pittwater opposite Palm Beach ferry wharf. There is a regular ferry service (30mins) or water taxi (5mins). You own boat, you could anchor off the beach, weather depending.

Car parking is metered and can be difficult in summer so leave plenty of time to park before the ferry leaves on the hour.

There are no shops at Mackerel Beach so BYO everything you wish to eat, drink and wear during your stay.

Linen and bath towels are provided.

All water in the house is rain water, so please be conscience not to waste a drop.

There is a water filter system in the kitchen sink for drinking water.

The Neighbour history

Mackerel Valley was formed by a creek flowing through subtropical rain forest and mangroves to exit onto the beach where a sand delta has been formed. It was originally a diary farm settled in 1823. It was subdivided in 1920 and since then over 100 houses have been built. Most fibre shacks were built as fisherman's cottages and weekenders. Some of these have been extensively renovated to take advantage of the stunning white sandy beach location.

There are no roads or vehicle access in this part of the Ku-ing-gai chase National Park.
