Set in the hinterland of Brisbane, this double brick family home with cathedral ceilings is beautifully appointed with fans, drapes, blinds, tiles and carpets in the Lounge and bedrooms. This spacious home includes 3 Bedrooms containing 1 Queen, 2 singles or 1 King and 2 single beds all with built in robes and dressers and ceiling fans.

The large 4th Bedroom (at extra charge). contains a King bed which can be 2 singles and a single sofa bed sleeping 3 persons. Fan, TV, dvd player

Air conditioned in living areas and Bedroom 1 and 4.

2 Bathrooms, 1 with full shower recess and toilet. The second bathroom with full shower recess and large bath. Plus a separate toilet and separate washroom.

Fully equipped spacious Kitchen with large refrigerator, dishwasher, Microwave oven, Fan forced oven, Nespresso machine and hot plates. Lounge room with TV, DVD, games, books and CD player. Dining room seating 6 people plus Breakfast Table seating 6. Laundry with shelves, trough, washing machine ironing board, iron and dryer. Free Wi-Fi 1 Gb per week.

A huge covered deck allows plenty of room for kids to play with chairs, tables and barb-b-que.

The 3 Bedrooms, Lounge and Breakfast Room all open out onto the huge covered deck which overlooks the hills and natural bushland. Outdoor dining table and Chairs with Barb-b-que allows the visitor to relax and enjoy the ambience of this unique property.

The property is situated on 1 acre of lawns and gardens plus next door with 2 acres of garden to stroll and enjoy plus 1 acre of maintained natural bushland where birds, wallabies and kangaroos feed.

Situated right next door to Coucals Garden which is ideal for weddings. Coucals Garden is a tranquil two acre garden incorporating many garden rooms with an eclectic mix of temperate, tropical and sub-tropical plantings.

Listen to the birds instead of traffic, Walk in tropical jungle instead of concrete jungle, Relax in the Australian bush. Just a few minutes to grocery, petrol, bakery, postoffice and hairdressers. Ten minutes to eatery and supermarket and swimming areas.

Why Janet Flanigan chose Mount Crosby

We bought the 6 acre property in 1980 as we had a young family and felt that we needed more space for the children. This led to keeping horses and chickens which involved us all until the children left home. I then started the garden and we have enjoyed opening the garden to the public and meeting like minded people. We chose the property because it had not been cleared and had native gums and had wonderful views of the surrounding hills

What makes this house unique

The peace and quiet and having the wildlife wander around the property and to hear the bird calls. The property has a wonderful covered deck which looks out above tree tops to the surrounding hills. The property has slopes and gullies as it is part of the D'Aquilar ranges.

lovely location

house in quiet beautiful location . needs some serious furniture updates and heating ! the split system in main living area doesn't cut for such huge house winter . also worried running it when you read in house book after the fact you'll be charged for excess power ..........

Owner's Response: Thank you Debbie, charging for excess power is so that people don't leave the airconditioners on when not required and close windows and doors if it is on. Excess is way above normal use.

A real homa away from home

Before we went back to Holland, after living in this area for 3.5 years, we found this great place!

It is really a home away from home! Everything you need and more you will find in this house The house is very clean and has everything you need if you don't have a "home" !

We especially loved the veranda, your kids can play without you have to worry about them! It a great place to enjoy the peach and quite! We really loved all the different birds we saw and even came up to us! Really if you need somewhere to stay for a short or long time this is the place to be! Also the house offer a lot of privacy ! Thanks Jan and Jim for making our final days in Australia so pleasant!

Awesome Family retreat !!

Excellent family location. Close to a great park for the kids. Had an excellent time.

The listing description was slightly misleading there wasn't quite as much yard space easliy accessible for the kids as stated, however this didn't affect our stay in any way. The house was clean and well maintained with the basics of tea, coffee, milk etc provided which makes it easier when you first arrive. We were welcomed by the owners on arrival and once again about half way through our stay to make sure we were ok for linen etc. The theme parks are about 45mins - an hour away from the house which was convenient and only about 20 - 30 mins away from Southbank. All in all our stay was excellent and would recommend to others and we will be keeping this property on our "places to stay" list for our next visit for sure!

A 2 acre garden featured on TV and open occasionally to the public is next door with free access to guests of Coucals Cottage. The plantings include tropical, sub-tropical and temperate with both exotic and native. Giant eucalypt gums dominate the garden and area.
