OUR APARTMENTS

Apartments are each wonderfully unique and reflect an abundance of heritage and charm. Touches of luxury contradict a rustic aesthetic. The beautiful hand-crafted Asian furnishings and the curious architectural quirks blend gracefully to create a warm and inviting holiday atmosphere. The three 2-bedroom and three 3-bedroom waterfront apartments feature a selection of queen rooms and twin share rooms. Apartments with 2-bedrooms also offer a separate living room with double sofa bed that converts to a third private sleeping space.

This 95 square meter 3-bedroom apartment caters for up to 6 guests featuring 2 queen rooms and 1 twin share room.

Apartment #2 is most suited to couples or friends travelling together or families with older children. The rooms in this apartment are quite far apart from one another which affords a lot of privacy for multiple guests.

This is the only ground floor apartment with open concept living room, dining area and kitchen. Very convenient access to the outdoor shared BBQ and Pizza Oven. The apartment is situated in the middle of the garden level and so is not subjected to a lot of direct sunlight during the day.

All 6 apartments are fully air-conditioned, self-catering, tastefully decorated to a high standard, facing the beachfront and ranging in size from 60 to 100 square meters. Bath towels and linen are included. We do not provide beach towels or personal toiletries. Full servicing is on a weekly basis. Starter packs include coffee, tea, sugar, milk, dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid, laundry powder and hand soap. Guest discounts available on some tour packages. The apartments do not have lift access and we are not a pet-friendly property. All rates are in AUD$ and inclusive of 10% GST. Rates listed are single or double occupancy with additional charges for extra guests.

Location

Five3Five is a beautifully restored vintage Queenslander with a seafront position at desirable Shelly Beach close to the hub of the Urangan Pier district. We are a small family run establishment that prides itself on cleanliness, good service, value for money and most of all, for being extraordinarily different! The surprising blend of ancient Asian decor with modern appliances and fittings combined with the outdoor element within each apartment provides a wonderful ambience for a unique holiday experience.

Complimentary Inclusions

Convenient access to Hervey Bay’s tranquil waters to enjoy use of our complimentary water toys such as fishing equipment, boogie boards and kayaks with lifejackets. The predominantly shady bike and pedestrian shared Esplanade pathway meanders 14km along the foreshore with stunning views of the sparkling waters, Urangan Pier and Fraser Island. Ideally situated for leisurely walks on the treelined foreshore pathway or for strolling along the beach with the vista of a stunning sunset over the water.

On arrival guests are required to provide management with a $200 security bond which is fully refundable if the property is left clean and undamaged, the keys are returned and guests depart at the agreed exit time. All keys are registered for additional security. This property is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts.

Not what we expected

The photos looked good on the net, but were slightly deceptive. Windows we thought opened on the outside only opened only on a corridor that was opened to the outside at the end. To get to the bedrooms one had to go into this darkish corridor from the lounge dining.

Owner's Response: Dear Yves, Many times guests have commented that the property is much nicer than the photos. We hired a photographer so that the professional would capture the most accurate depiction. I have tried to explain in the listing, in the confirmation letter on booking and with the photos that there are outdoor areas within the apartments. Most guests book because of the quirky 1920's building and the unusual layout and do not appear surprised about the outdoor elements. All windows open to the outdoors off the outdoor corridor. This is generally a feature that guests really love. For those wishing an internal configuration, we suggest viewing apartments #1 and #4. There are 3 lantern lights along the corridor which are left on when guests check in so that they are aware that they are available for use. I am sorry you did not notice they were there. I am glad you had a peaceful stay and enjoyed the location. Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback as this may assist other guests to understand that there are outside areas within the apartments. Regards, Lisa
