Indigo Couples Retreat West Lodge is brand new. For the past 5 years we have had East Lodge - check the East Lodge site to see 30 reviews for our property. Now East Lodge has doubled in size, plus we have opened this new lodge, West Lodge. And isn't is always awesome to be one of the first to stay somewhere, when everything is brand new? :-)
A unique and beautiful couples destination, this property is a character wooden building that has had a huge contemporary rebuild. Think rustic chunky timbers, stone and concrete. Think light and space and high cathedral ceilings with courtyard gardens + elegant luxurious furnishings. It has been designed for 3 or 4 couples, 3 rooms having a beguiling master bedroom and ensuite. A fourth couple may be accommodated with a shared bathroom.
The lodge has its own private infinity plunge pool with 360 degree wet-edge, outdoor Japanese bath, private gym and yoga space, open wood fire, outdoor wood pizza oven and fire pit. It also has a Bose stereo, flat screen tellie that you can just about watch from the pool and Foxtel/Austar cable TV.
West Lodge overlooks a beautiful landscape - rolling grassy hills and circular meditation spaces lead to an enormous dam with a bridge across it and leading to paths through the forest. There are numerous spaces to sit and be surrounded by nature, and wallabies congregate every afternoon on the grass to graze. Photos can't capture the peace and beauty of sitting on the verandah at West Lodge, by the pool or in the outdoor Japanese Bath, breathing in the air and listening to the bush.
We believe Indigo Retreat is amongst the most sophisticated and elegant of all far south coast accommodation, and of course it is completely private, a short walk to stunning and secluded Murrah beach and only 12 minutes to the charming and pristine fishing village of Bermagui. It It is also right on the coastal art trail, and borders kilometres of pristine national parks.
There are only two lodges at Indigo Retreat – they are completely separate from each other, are about 50 metres apart and have different outlooks. Check out Indigo Couples Retreat East Lodge for more info. As West Lodge is brand new we suggest you also see the reviews for East Lodge which we really appreciate because we've tried hard to create a special and high quality destination and we think that is reflected in our reviews.

The Murrah is a rural and forested haven about 15 minutes south of Bermagui on the Bermagui-Tathra coastal road. It is on the northernmost boundary of Mimosa Rocks National Park which has stunning spotted gum and burrawang forest, numerous untouched beaches and crystal clear lagoons.
Charming old wooden bridges, lush green farmland, beachside drives and winding forested roads all add to its unique unspoiled character and it has been a long time favoured escape for city refugees seeking space in nature for creative arts, rest and healing.
Now with the opening of a few deluxe accommodation options the Murrah has become accessible for holiday stays and a series of new galleries, wineries and restaurants nearby have overlayed the pleasure factor to create a fantastic escape destination.
Nearby Bermagui is a very pretty and undeveloped coastal village with a population of about 2000 people. It's the perfect place for topping up food and holiday supplies and has more than enough restaurants, wine bars and cafes to try out over the space of a week or two. The historic village of Tilba and coastal towns Tathra and Merimbula are easily accessible for day trips.
If you haven't explored this very special part of the wilderness coast you must do so!
