About owner/property manager

Marci and I(Chuck) moved here from Seattle and are crazy about living here, no thought of what clothes to wear, always shorts and flipflops! 80+ degree ocean water, It just doesn't get any better!

owner/property manager purchased this house in 2007

Why owner/property manager chose Kona Coast

We love being close to the water for swimming, snorkeling, and sunning. Also we are down in 'Old Hawaii' and far from the hustle and bustle of more upscale or congested areas.

What makes this house unique

There is nothing like picking your own fruit for breakfast, with a 365 day growing season! We Live in the Area, so if you need anything just call us!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for the snorkeling and boogie boarding gear, we did not have to rent a thing. We also really enjoyed all the fruit on the property, esp. the bananas, mangos, and papaya. FYI, in the winter the best place to see fish in relatively calm waters is Kalalu'u. There is sand there to and shade! P.S. Don't forget to try all the Kona Coffee!

Warm, Friendly home away from home on Big Island

  • 5 of 5

The house is wonderfully charming and close to great beaches for our 'keiki' (kids) aged 2 and 4. Its our second time back in two years and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Very affordable in contrast to other places we looked into, and perfectly located to get a real feel for the island. Away, but not too far away from the hustle and bustle of Kailua-Kona, its the perfect location if you have a rental car. We had three generations under one roof and didn't step on each other's toes. Master bedroom is beautiful and the other two upper bedrooms are pleasantly spacious. Downstairs bedroom has loads of space, and was convenient for us since it also had the washer and dryer in it...

Its got all the amenities you would expect and a little bit of cottage charm. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house and convenient location

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful, spacious, and has everything you need; the large garden is a wonder for kids to explore. We were only 6, but 10 people can be very comfortable here. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a blender for making tasty smoothies. We benefited from the snorkel gear, towels, boogie board, coolers, and even clothed for cooler weather (which you'll need if you go to Mauna Kea). We stayed 7 days and were sad to leave. Marci and Chuck were very helpful to us when we needed them, plus they had fruit and coffee for us on arrival.

I liked the closeness to Honaunau for picnic and sunset and 2 step for snorkeling. The house is very close to a wonderful fruit stand (at mile 103-104 on hwy 11), and if you want to explore Kohala and the south part of the island, all from one location, this will be a great place to stay.

We stayed here for 6 nights. The house is very cosy and well situated between kealakekua bay and two steps, which is a wonderful choice. We were with more than 10 people which we would not recommend. 10 is really good, but more is quite tight. kitchen was not very well equipped for the amount of people, that suppose to fit in. fridge was compared to this really great. there were enough beachtowels and some boogie boards and flippers.

marci and chuck did the best so we could feel very comfortable and brought some stuff for the kitchen over that were needed. they are very warm hearted people and helped us with every question we had.

mahalo for everything and we would defiantly come again with less people :-)

FANTASTIC HOUSE

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently spent 7 wonderful days in Hawaii and stayed in Marci's dream house. The house is immaculate, great size and totally furnished with everything you could need. From the moment we arrived Chuck and Marci were there to greet us and helped us to get settled in. There is a nice size yard with lush surroundings and patio furniture for relaxing under palm trees. Also provided were snorkle gear, ice chest, boogie boards and other items. We will be coming back in the near future for sure. We could not have asked for a nicer host couple to make sure our vacation was all we hoped it to be. I suggest Marci's dream house to anyone wanting a nice out of the way place to stay. Maholo Chuck and Marci!!

The house is ideally located, lots of sun in the spring and close to the ocean, where we can snorkel. We definitely enjoyed it wholeheartedly. My kids think this was their best vacation and I have to include their experience in this house. We got to enjoy the very unique backyard where all sorts tropical fruit trees are. Eating apple bananas, soursop just harvested was quite an experience. It is not hard to tell that the owners have put a lot of thoughts into the house, from body boards to bikes, from sandwich bags to hand towels. Very convenient! I have told a couple of my friends who are interested in visiting big island next time, I am sure they will be as fulfilled as we were. Highly recommended.
