About the property

Base your holiday this laid back two storey four bedroom home. Set over two self contained levels this property is ideal for families and groups of friends. The property is a short walk from Dunwich's beaches, cafes and shops and only 20 minutes from the surf at Point Lookout.

The upstairs living and dining area features hardwood floors, plenty of comfortable seating, dining table and a fabulous kitchen with granite counters and gas cooktop. This area opens onto a private deck with outdoor dining, full BBQ, hammock and bay views. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a large corner bath. One bedroom is very large, with a queen sized bed and futon lounge. The futon lounge converts to another double bed if required. The second bedroom has a double bed. A king single day bed is also available in the living room.

The ground floor features a large open-plan floor area with Queen-sized bed, lounge with fold-out sofa, TV, and dining area. There is also a second bedroom with a queen bed. The downstairs kitchenette is equipped with basic cooking facilities, including a two burner cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster, and cooking and dining utensils. There is an adjoining private toilet and shower. The ground level also has its own large private deck with outdoor dining, hammock and BBQ.

The Location

Dunwich is situated on beautiful North Stradbroke Island, convenient to beaches and boat ramps. Stradbroke Island Bay Views is centrally located in easy walking distance from shops and cafes as well as local art galleries and the museum. Straddie, as the locals call it, is a relaxing fishing and beach destination, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Two peaceful bayside beaches are only minutes away, perfect for swimming at high tide or exploring at low. Attractions in Dunwich include the native wildlife, with kangaroos and koalas often seen along the shoreline and in parks.

It is a short 20 minute trip by bus or car to nearby Point Lookout and Amity Point, on the ocean side of the island, where you can enjoy surf beaches and an array of dining options.

Brown Lake, a large natural fresh water lake is less than 10 minutes drive from the apartment while direct four wheel drive access to Main Beach is only 15 minutes away.

The property is located less than three minutes from the local boat ramp opening onto the many fishing spots that Moreton Bay has to offer.

The water taxi from the mainland is a comfortable walking distance from the house.

Getting Around

Bringing a vehicle is a great way to get the most out of your Straddie experience with daily vehicle barge services to the island. Conventional roads link the islands main centres of Dunwich, Amity and Point Lookout. For the more adventurous a 4wd vehicle will provide access to the more remote sections of the island’s stunning beaches.

Water taxi’s departing from Cleveland also service the island if you do not wish to bring a vehicle. The apartment is a comfortable walking distance from the taxi terminals. Regular bus services provide access to Point Lookout and Amity and local taxis are also available.

Search “Stradbroke ferries” for details of barge services or “Stradbroke ferries” or “Straddie Flyer” for water taxi services.

The Straddie Flyer water taxi service also provides a free bus service from the Cleveland train station which meets many of the Cleveland trains. (see website for details)

We hope that you enjoy your stay at our property.

While the house is thoroughly cleaned between guest visits we would ask that that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used and put any dirty towels in the hamper. In addition, if you use the BBQ we would appreciate if it was cleaned after use. If you don't have time that is no problem however extra cleaning charges will apply.

We understand that accidents can happen. We do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned too.

Pets (maximum two) are welcome to enjoy their holiday with you. We have a fully fenced backyard and they are also welcome to use the downstairs deck area, which is undercover. Please note that pets are not allowed indoors and that pets can only be accommodated with whole house bookings.
