A warm welcome to Chez Wilde.

If you are travelling as a family or in a large group, you are looking to relocate to Brisbane, you commute and need a home away from home, or even looking for a great place to host a function and need some rooms to go with that, read on...

Chez Wilde provides you with the use of the entire ground floor area of this modern, luxury two story home.

You have 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and large robes, with plenty of hanging and drawer space.

You can use the study as a third bedroom with a very comfortable queen size sofa bed, use the desk and room for work, or grab a book from the extensive library in the study and pass your time reading.

We can comfortably sleep 6 guests, and if you have children, we can always help you make up beds on the lounges in your living area (or pitch a tent for them to sleep under the stars?).

Fresh bedding and towels are supplied for each guest, which you may launder at Chez Wilde for extended stays. A washing machine, dryer, an iron and ironing mat are all available for your use.

You have your own kitchen, equipped with an espresso coffee machine, tea facilities, a microwave, toaster, two burner stove, convection oven and a fridge. All of the cookware and tableware is top quality. Tea and coffee (the good stuff!) are with our compliments.

Why not make the most of our fantastic climate and do the cooking on your deck, where you will find a 3 burner BBQ, with hotplates, grill, an insulated hood and rotisserie for roasting, and a side burner for pots, pans and woks.

Your indoor lounge and entertainment area is equipped with a 46" flat screen TV, a DVD player, Apple TV, PS3 console and an Airplay enabled sound system, as well as a huge range of movies to watch, books to read, games to play and an eclectic music collection to listen to.

If the kids could use their own TV, and have PS3 or Wi games they would like to play, just let me know and we can set up a TV in the study, effectively giving you two indoor living areas.

Fancy a game of snooker or 8 ball? An 8'x4' billiard table is also provided, though please supervise the young ones as it is a beautiful slate topped table.

As a guest, you will have unlimited high speed Wi-Fi access to stay in touch with work or your family and friends.

Your bathroom has a shower, bath, basin and toilet, with your basic toiletries supplied. A hair dryer & hair straightener are also provided.

Your indoor living space opens up to your alfresco covered deck area where you can enjoy our wonderful climate and the breezes from Moreton Bay (just a 3 minute stroll from your front door).

The Tuscan table has seating for 6 and is a great place to have a drink or your evening meal after your long day of work or play.

And if the weather is too inclement to dine outside, the lounge room coffee table can be converted to a 6 place dining table.

If you are thinking about having guests over, we have plenty of additional tables and chairs that can be made available to you.

A fully fenced yard makes Chez Wilde pet friendly and there's plenty of manicured lawn area for the kids to play securely. If you are towing a boat or smaller caravan this same area can be used for secure off-street parking.

There are a lot of incidentals that you will find in your rooms that you may use or borrow, such as umbrellas, a picnic hamper and blanket for a day at the park or the beach, an esky (chilly bin for New Zealanders), food and wine touring guides, brochures for local attraction, bocce balls for a game on the lawn, emergency toiletries, a car cleaning kit. Your front lawn converts into a full size doubles badminton court, and there is a basketball hoop and backboard if you care for some more physical R&R during your stay. We also have 2 adult and 3 children's bicycles for hire for you to explore Wynnum and its surrounds.

You will find many other items such as these all designed to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.

Chez Wilde's guests have sole use of the 2 bedrooms, the study, the lounge and games area, a bathroom, kitchen, a huge deck/outdoor living area, gardens and lawns, and everything available in these areas.

The garage, workshop and utilities areas on the ground floor are secured for use by your host.

Out of necessity we share the front door and entrance hall. Chez Wilde provides you with the privacy you need, though your hosts are there if you need them, and you are always welcome to join us for a drink and a chat on our deck overlooking Moreton Bay.

The upstairs apartment is not secured from yours, though it is separately zoned on the alarm system and armed when not occupied.


Chez Wilde's outdoor and indoor living spaces are a great venue to host a party. We have spares of everything, so hosting a group of up to 20 with little notice is too easy.

With a bit of planning (I can assist with the planning and coordination for a small fee) we can cater for any sort of function with up to 50 guests and arrange covered marquees on the lawn, additional tables, chairs, table settings, catering, lighting, PA system, DJ, music, in fact anything that you may need.

A cleaning fee will be charged for function bookings.


Wynnum is the closest Bayside Suburb to the City of Brisbane, and with a metro train station that takes you into the heart of the city located a short 4 minute walk away, a daily commute or just a visit to our River City couldn't be easier.

Head in the other direction and within a 3 minute walk you have reached the foreshore of Moreton Bay, a wonderful place to take a stroll, ride a bike, have a meal or just enjoy the view across to the Bay Islands.

Whilst Chez Wilde doesn't offer a swimming pool, a short stroll along the esplanade brings you to the Wynnum public saltwater pool and water park, that all kids, big and small, will enjoy.

Brisbane's domestic and international airports are an easy 20 minute freeway drive from Chez Wilde.

Need a drink? The Waterloo Hotel is only a 5 minute walk away across the Wynnum Creek footbridge.

A further 4 minute walk takes you into the heart of the Wynnum CBD, an old style commercial and retail centre where most of your day to day shopping needs can be met.

Head north on the foreshore and you come to the Wynnum Mangrove Boardwalk, where you can view the tidal sea life of a mangrove forest whilst keeping your feet dry.

By Taxi;

Airport taxis will cost between $45 to $65 one way, dependant on the traffic and time of the day.

The journey from the airport to Wilde St Wynnum is 18 km and takes 15 to 20 minutes , predominantly on 90 to 100 km/hr freeways.

By Train:

The Airtrain can be caught from both the domestic and international terminals.

At Central Station transfer to the Cleveland line (though DO NOT get on the Cleveland EXPRESS).

Depart at the WYNNUM Station

(note- there are a Wynnum North and Wynnum Central stations before and after the WYNNUM station).

I will pick you up if you call me, otherwise it takes less than 5 minutes to walk across Tingal Road to Wilde St.

This journey will take between 1 and 2 hours depending on the day and time, and costs $25 per adult.

Directions if driving from the Brisbane Domestic or International Airports;

1. You will leave the airport precinct on either Moreton Drive (domestic) or Airport Drive (International).

2. Take the exit that shows the M1/Gateway Motorway to the Gold Coast.

3. Whilst crossing the Brisbane River on the Gateway Bridge, be in the 2nd or 3rd lane from the left and take the M4/Port of Brisbane Motorway exit, the second exit at the bottom of the bridge.

4. Take the Lyton Road/Pritchard St exit and turn right at the traffic lights onto Pritchard St.

5. Continue straight along Pritchard St through 1 set of traffic lights and 3 roundabouts.

6. After the third roundabout, Wilde St is your next street on the left.

Directions if driving South from the Sunshine Coast on the Bruce Highway;

Take the M1/Gateway Motorway exit that will pass the Brisbane airports, then follow the directions above from step 3.

Directions if driving North from the Gold Coast on the M1;

Take the M1/Gateway Motorway exit and follow this until the M4/Port of Brisbane Motorway exit. Then follow directions above (from airport) from step 4.


The Cleveland train line can be accessed at the top of Chez Wilde's street. It runs from the suburb of Cleveland, another spectacular Bayside Suburb worthy of a visit and where ferries can connect you to the fascinating Bay Islands. The other end of the line is the City of Brisbane.

From here you make a connection to the Airtrain, which services the domestic and international terminals. Train connections can also be made to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast from this line.

Once in the City of Brisbane you can also jump on a RiverCat Ferry , a fabulous day trip and a great way to see our River City.

Adjacent to the Wynnum Train Station is a Bus Stop that services 5 different routes radiating out from Wynnum.

If pedal power is your thing and you would like to explore the area by bike we have some family friendly bike paths in and around Wynnum and Chez Wilde has 5 well maintained bikes (2 adult and 3 children's bikes) that can be hired for a nominal fee.
