About this property

Greenfield Place- Boutique Accomodation

Welcome.
Lauren and Rick welcome you to Greenfield Place. Located just 400 metres from Ballarat Train Station on historic Lydiard Street.
Greenfield Place is perfectly positioned for you to enjoy the best of Ballarat’s arts and culture scene, our city’s major events, festivals and fascinating history.
Greenfield Place is close to Her Majesty’s Theatre, and Ballarat Art Gallery (Australia’s oldest and largest regional art gallery) is just a short walk away.
Lydiard Street is one of the most intact Victorian era heritage precincts in Australia, in a regional centre steeped in history. We welcome you to the heart of Ballarat and know you will enjoy your stay.

Our Place…
Greenfield Place offers boutique accommodation for up to six guests. The house has contemporary styling and features modern appliances and furnishings, with a well stocked library and fine art work by local artists hanging throughout the property. The works are for sale and will be refreshed regularly.
A Place to Sleep…
With three bedrooms, Greenfield Place sleeps up to six people. There are two queen bedrooms, and another bedroom with two king single beds that can be configured to a king bed with pillowtop. All linen is provided.

A Place to Feast…
Created by a family that loves to cook, the kitchen at Greenfield Place has everything you need to create a meal to remember.
The kitchen features a 900mm commercial oven with quality cookware, and ample bench space for preparation. We also share with you a generous supply of condiments and spices including our own brew of tomato relish.
Your caffeine supply is via an Italian coffee machine, and fresh beans. Or pop into The Local café at the front of the property if you prefer a barista brew.

A Place to Relax…
The living space is comfortable with leather couches and chairs to lounge in with a good book. Our library showcases Ballarat history and culture as well as several Australian authors from Peter Temple to local poet Nathan Curnow.
The living room has a gallery feel with contemporary pieces lining the walls. It’s a space to unwind and reflect on your Ballarat stay.

A Place Outside…
The outdoor space is the perfect place to entertain and enjoy a BBQ. Take some time away from the hustle and bustle and relax in our delightful garden.

A Place to Feel at Home…
We are happy to offer bikes and helmets so you can explore the city on two wheels. If you prefer to stay in, feel free to put your feet up and watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV, or catch up on your social media with free Wi-Fi. You are welcome to use the full laundry… but we hope you didn’t come to Ballarat to do your washing.

Enjoy.

Hidden Gem
Three couples visiting Ballarat stayed in this wonderful house. The layout and comfort were excellent with a highlight being the garden and outdoor area which was extensively used in the beautiful sunshine. Everyone had a great time and the Local cafe at the front provided great breakfasts to start the day. Location is good as we were able to walk into town and avoid the parking challenges, We will be back !

Comfort, convenience and wonderfully well stocked
From the moment we saw the breakfast supplies we realised that our stay would be relaxing and fuss free. Excellent central location, fully stocked kitchen, cafè at the front of the house. Well heated, great beds and dark rooms. We'll be back.

Lovely stay in Ballarat
Our hosts provided a wonderful space for a catch-up of old friends with every convenience provided. We were delighted to find breakfast supplies already there. The handy cafe was great. We would recommend this property to friends. Thank you.

A hidden house on the doorstep of Ballarat
My family stayed here for 2 nights in winter for its close proximity to the Ballarat CBD and train station. The house is hidden behind a little cafe. This minimises any noise from the main roads - we didn't hear traffic or trains from inside the house. The house is fully equipped as a home away from home with a full kitchen and a very complicated coffee machine (it also had a plunger and tea pot with coffee and loose leaf tea); there was no dishwasher. The hosts supplied a selection of breakfast necessities including fresh bread and local produce which were most appreciated. There is a reasonable sized backyard which, due to the weather we were unable to use. The beds were among the most comfortable I have ever slept on. 2 of the 3 bedrooms had skylights to allow natural light in. Unfortunately there was no way to turn these 'natural lights' off or cover them up. For me this is a serious consideration and why I am not rating this property as 5 stars. I would only recommend it to people who have to get up early or can't / don't want to sleep in. I would also suggest this property could use a drier. It had a washing machine only.
