I have been a host now for 14 years when I built The Long Weekend Retreat B&B. Later in 2016 I transformed our sweet workers cottage, Queen Bee in Milton into a magical little South Coast foodie and village escape place.
I love the journey of creating a space, imagining what will make guests stay simply perfect, piecing together something unique and unforgettable.
My own professional journey has taken me through many disciplines and places; from art curator, to house painter, bush regenerator and today, with my partner Graham, we manage Piccaninny Plains Wildlife Sanctuary in Cape York for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
We are absolutely wildly passionate about nature and preserving and protecting Australia’s wild country and wildlife.
During those times when we are busy managing country, our incredible little team headed up by our unflappable housekeeper and manager of everything, Gail, who keeps everything perfect and running like clockwork for our guests at Queen Bee Cottage, Milton.

Milton is the perfect short-break destination, ideal for a romantic interlude or a family getaway. It is only a 3 hour scenic drive from Sydney or around 2 ½ hours from Canberra and, at over 150 years of age, this historic village is loaded with atmosphere.
The village boasts art galleries and antique vendors, alfresco cafes and fine-dining restaurants, sophisticated fashion boutiques and contemporary home-ware stores. The iconic Milton Theatre features regular local productions and international artists.
Surrounded by the rural pastures of working dairy farms and overlooked by the iconic Pigeon House Mountain in the Budawang ranges, the village is just a few kilometres from some of the world’s most beautiful white sand beaches, coastal lakes, inlets and rivers.
Markets are run in Milton on the first Saturday of each month.

Everything in town is in walking distance of Queen Bee Cottage.
