Step back in time at our 200 year old building and enjoy historic architecture with modern amenities featuring a private covered balcony, living room, bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and bath, flat screen cable TV, stereo and Wi-Fi.

Located steps from “everything”: restaurants, museums, riverboat rides, antique shops, night clubs, the St. Charles streetcar, and one of the oldest farmers’ markets in the U.S. Walk the French Quarter to Jackson Square, the Cabildo and the Presbytere. Ride the street car to the Garden District and see antebellum mansions like nowhere else in the world.

Comfy and Convenient

My husband and I booked this condo for a getaway weekend. Booking was easy and the property manager Carol was very responsive. The property was exactly as described and we were very happy with our choice. The condo was very comfortable and the location was perfect to walk anywhere we wanted. Carol left a helpful list of recommended restaurants and tours. The balcony, as everyone said before, was definitely the highlight of the condo. We greatly enjoyed sitting out there any time we were home.

Now for the follow up. We checked out March 8th. We received a security check back from Carol shortly after. The check was for $50, it was supposed to have been $100. I contacted Carol right away and she apologized for a clerical error. There was a misunderstanding about late check out and she thought we had underpaid our balance. After sending her a copy of my records she agreed that she would send out our missing $50. This was on March 19th. Two weeks later, on April 1st, I contacted Carol via text that we had still not received the check. No response. I texted again on April 4th. No response. I emailed her on April 5th. On April 7th, we received our balance electronically via my paypal account. The lack of communication was what frustrated us. All we needed was a simple response that our check had been sent.

All in all, we had an amazing weekend and the condo was great. I'm sure that our experience with the deposit was an unfortunate fluke, but it did bother us enough to rate the experience "good" instead of "excellent"

Owner's Response: Sorry Amy.....we were in the throws of a Festival Season...Mardi Gras, St Patrick's Day, St. Joseph's Day, French Quarter Festival and preparing for 2 weekends of Jazz Fest. I do get a little backlogged responding to emails.....which I do get a lot of managing 8 properties. Considering everything else was satisfactory, I'm more than a little surprised that you felt compelled to put this in writing in a review. I do my best to respond as quickly as possible. Sometimes it takes a little longer.....especially during Festivals and Holidays so please be patient. Thanks! ~ Carol

Great Honeymoon Rental!

We stayed here for our honeymoon in New Orleans. Carol was very helpful and responded to our texts very quickly! Excellent location, we were within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit during our stay.The condo is cozy and quiet but close enough to the action. We loved the R bar just a few blocks away!

This was our first time visiting New Orleans and we could not have stayed in a better location. We were within walking distance of everything and the balcony by far was amazing to sit and enjoy our morning coffee and our evenings. We would definetely recommend Esplanade In The Shade and would stay here again in a heartbeat !

Great place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay in this great condo, location could not have been better. It's located at the end of Bourbon Street - the quiet end. The balcony was just fabulous and we made great use of it sitting outside and people watching.

Thanks very much Carol, and if we ever come back to New Orleans we would definitely stay in this condo again.

Great time in NOLA

My husband and I had not been to NOLA in 11 years so we decided it was time to go back for a visit! The condo is great! Perfect for two with everything you need to have a great time. The balcony is the best! We enjoyed our coffee every morning and spent every evening on the balcony watching NOLA go by! There can be some loud street traffic on the balcony but you can't hear any of it from inside the condo! It is within waling distant to the Quarter and Frenchman St. Carol was a wonder host! She was available for any questions or issues and she was always prompt and friendly. She had some amazing recommendations on places to go, things to do, and most importantly great foods to eat! Will return for sure! Thanks Carol!

Excellent Location!

Having never been to NOLA, my husband thought this would be the perfect place to spend our honeymoon! The condo is in a lovely neighborhood that's just a short walk to Jackson Square, the French Market and Frenchman Street. A little street noise, but it's NOLA so that's to be expected. Very clean and all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I will definitely book this condo again!
