Absolutely disgusting!
This property was filthy. It smelt mildest. There were coffee and tomatoe sauce spills on the floor. No internet. Toilet did not flush and is now blocked. Used toothpaste packet in the shower. Dirty face washer in the hand basin. Cobwebs every where. Furniture very outdated, and rickety. Not happy with how we were billed. Charged for an extra person? Charged for our dog? All extras we weren’t aware of until we paid and saw receipt. Will not use this property or recommend it for a dog to live in . Absolutely disgusting!!!!
Some mothers have them! There is nothing I can do about you being overcharged now, the booking was made through this website by yourself, if you ticked you had a dog and an extra person, I fail to see how this is someone else's problem. You could have rang or texted me! You had my number and the caretakers number if you had problems, e.g. the toilet water was turned off at valve or the mobile phone / wireless internet system needed turning on, you could have contacted us at any stage. The coffee and tomato drops on the floor, empty toothpaste box and face washer left from previous occupant, may have been overlooked by the caretaker during his frequent inspections and clean. This is a remote site there are only 2 permanent residents in Baird Bay, so a lot of trust is placed on occupants to leave the shack as they found it. I do not care to make comment about the other extremely harsh remarks you have made, it seems to me that being overcharged, which was your own mistake and was the onset of a barrage of very nasty comments. This occupant had every opportunity to contact either myself or the caretaker by mobile phone for any issues during their stay, The caretaker lives 20 mins away and is always quick to respond to any issues like this traveller seemingly had. But this occupant who booked one night, prefers to go on an unreasonable verbal rampage. This review was a complete surprise and should be considered to be completely unreasonable as other travellers reviews can contest. I have found this travellers comments completely unjustified and very offensive to say the least. We always immediately go out of our way to help travellers with any issues that they may have during their stay. I would not recommend this traveller be allowed to stay at your property, unless of course you have the very latest in new furniture and all screws are fully tightened up, but be prepared to also let the dog also use your new furniture. This is a joke and can only laugh at this review and hopefully future travellers can see through this previous occupants abusive rant. Anglers Anchorage is a family friendly retreat in a remote area, it is does not have all the modern designer creature comforts of a brand new apartment in the city and yes it may have a cobweb here and there, spiders are part of nature and the shack is located in a natural environment, you may have to brush some of your fastidious and fussy tendencies aside if staying at Anglers Anchorage. 99% of travellers have a great stay, excepting this traveller. I can only hope that future travellers can see past this obstructive and unwarranted review.
Easter getaway
Heating and cooling wasn't very sufficient. As lounge got very hot during the day and little airflow. Was well equipt cutlery etc. States as pet friendly but no fencing to keep pet in and rules are for pets to remain outdoors so dog had to remain tied up unfortunately.
Nice quite location.
Loved it! Would definitely go back and stay there again
Loved it! Would definitely go back and stay there again
Very tidy beach shack
We had a great holiday in Baird Bay. The shack was great with ample facilities. The locals were really friendly and so are the pelicans! There are beautiful sights to see nearby too if you fancy a drive around
Great place for sea lion swim
Exactly what you would expect from a shack in a small fishing town. Very handy to the swim with the sealions. Owner Dale very easy to deal with. Everyone on our family said they would book this again.
Map
Baird Bay is located a short drive of the Flinders Highway, isolated and quiet without many visitors. Driving day trips are available to many local tourist attractions and points of interest that are a short distance from this central location. But if you are like me once you are at Bairds Bay you don't want to go driving any further. Streaky Bay is the closest large town, half an hours drive away. It has two supermarkets, hardware store, many shops and cafe's and a hotel. Well worth a the short trip to gather supplies, have lunch or dinner at the hotel, then a casual drive back to the quiet country at Baird Bay. If you visit the tourist information center at Streaky Bay, they will provide a great deal of information about the things to do and sites to see in the area. Much of this information is made available for your convenience at Anglers Anchorage.
