The only thing better than being in Baltimore for the Sailabration Blue Angels Show and massive fireworks display was being on the Scorpius for the wonderful weekend!
We had never considered a house boat before, but hotel prices were higher than normal because of so many visitors to the City. It was great. The boat was immaculate, the beds were firm and comfortable and the tv was perfect for watching the Orioles beat the Yankees!
No one had a better view of the Blue Angels and the fireworks than we did from the top deck, well equipped with comfortable chairs.
The location was perfect, lots of restaurants, etc nearby.
We hope to board the Scorpius for a future adventure.
Everything was exceptional other than the fact that i woke up both days feeling skin irritation.
The house boat was immaculate and just the perfect size for the two of us. As nice as the place was, the most amazing part of it was the rooftop deck. The largest rooftop deck of all the boats in the marina, it provided incredible and unending water views and the perfect place to have drinks in the evening.
A Fells Point seafood landmark, Captain James Restaurant, is just a few steps away. A must have if you stay here because the food is incredible. Fells Point bars and shops are less than 1/2 a mile walk from the marina. The property manager Donavan was always available and was tremendous in his tour and explanation of the boat. This trip was one we will remember fondly and plan to experience again.
This was truly a unique experience. We had stayed on a houseboat before, but this boat was even better. It had everything we needed downstairs and a rooftop deck that made for a lovely Saturday in the sun. The bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable and the split bathroom (one part with sink and toilet and the other with shower) was very convenient. It is a boat and gentle movement must be expected. But even when the wind picked up, the rocking was not a problem and neither of us felt any seasickness. In fact , it was quite soothing. There was a second bedroom that we did not need; a second couple could have joined us and the space would still have accommodated all of us without feeling cramped. It was so much better than being locked up in a hotel room. Great seafood restaurant across the parking lot was a bonus. Fells Point was a full of great shops, restaurants and bars, within walking distance or a very short drive. Forget Inner Harbor, this is the place to go for good food and fun. Fort McHenry, where our national anthem was written in the harbor, was a short drive away and worth visiting.
I highly recommend this boat for a vacation or a getaway, any time of year.
We rented the houseboat Scorpious for a birthday weekend celebration. The location was excellent, between Fells Point and Canton. Both locations were very walkable, as was Patterson Park. The waterfront walkway was very nice. Markets and liquor stores are close by. The houseboat itself was very nice, with two separate bedrooms. It had all the appliances and kitchen tools we needed. The only complaint was the lack of bathroom hand towels and hand soap. I was surprised and displeased that we had to pay an additional cleaning fee. After all, when you stay in a hotel, there is not a separate cleaning fee. Overall we had a very pleasant stay, but it was expensive. The local site manager, Donovan, was very nice. We would consider staying in houseboats in other locations.
Amazingly comfortable, and the separate shower area was a nice feature. Living space was roomier than expected. Very clean! Kitchen was well equipped, with an island.
