A private, stylish, cottage in the perfect location, with rolling-hill views.
About Grant Flather
We are both artists and own a unique art retail business in nearby Meeniyan called The Outer Space (We moved from Melbourne 17 years ago). We have renovated Winchester Rise with great care, thought and love. We wanted to create a welcoming, relaxing and stimulating place to stay - somewhere we would love to stay ourselves.
Grant Flather purchased this House in 2016
Why Grant Flather chose Foster
The location is perfect. Winchester Rise is located on a small rise on the edge of Foster in a quiet cul-de-sac. It affords beautiful views, and is very quiet, yet it is only a short walk to the centre of town. There is also beautiful native bush at the end of the road with walking trails to other parts of town. The house already had the perfect layout - open plan living areas at the front, bedrooms at the back. It took a lot of work, but we have created a unique, stylish, relaxing and private gem.
What makes this House unique
Quiet location close to all the amenities you need - bakeries, supermarkets, pub, cafes, restaurants, butcher, fishmonger, chemist, golf course, swimming pool, and mountain bike park. Twenty minutes from the gates of the Prom as well as the rest of Prom country including Agnes Falls and Tarra Bulga National Park. Uniquely decorated with vintage touches and original artwork, but with modern kitchen and superb bathroom. The main bedroom can be closed off for privacy, or opened up to the main living area and the views beyond, creating more of an apartment feel. We bedrooms inclide top-quality linen and mattresses for the perfect night's sleep.

Fantastic base for Wilson's Prom!
Thank you Helen and Grant for providing a home with character and comfort. We loved the position, the convenience of being able to walk to the shops or for coffee and after a hard day exploring returning to a warm and comfortable home made this a wonderful experience. Everything that a couple or family would need is catered for and the bonus of being able to bring our puppy was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Winchester Rise.
style generosity and great for the pooch
Helen and Grant you have created a warm homey and truly tasteful place to getaway from it all...

View from the front verandah is priceless we could been anywhere...
We look forward to returning soon
The property is clean and well equipped. We feel like home away from home immediately! Grant and Helen were very helpful and attended to our queries promptly over the app. The yellow folder contained many useful info and tip. We tried some of the recommendation and really enjoyed our weekend at Foster. Grant and Helen also left sparkling water and chocolate in the fridge for us which was a pleasant surprise! The attention to detail makes this a truly wonderful experience. Thank you Grant and Helen for hosting us.
We thank you Grant & Helen for letting us stay in your holiday house.
My kids loved all your great games and toys especially the campervan.
Your house is very beautiful, colourful and creative. It was very welcoming and we were fascinated by the paintings and artworks. When we arrived we were amazed by this vibrant and unique house.
We loved every room especially the kitchen and sunroom. It was a good Easter break home away from home.
We will definitely be back and recommend your place to our friends.

Great place near Wilson’s Prom
The property had everything we needed and was well located just 25 min away from Wilson’s Prom. The only inconvenient was that we had a hard time finding when to eat because coming back from Wilson’s Prom because all the restaurants close from 2-6 pm.
Hi Christina, we are glad you enjoyed the house, and thank you for the feedback. It is alway hard to find restaurants open all day in country towns. We are lucky to have two supermarkets (with full delis, cooked free-range chickens, etc), a large produce and gourmet food store (with fresh oven-ready pizzas, Asian dumplings, etc) two bakerys, and a couple of cafes that should have been open. We are sorry you were inconvenienced, but hope to host you again!
Kind regards Grant and Helen
Ideal getaway for us and our dog. Great walks in the woods and nearby beaches. Marvelous views of the sunset.
