Wonderful getaway retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We came here to celebrate my 30th birthday weekend and had a blast. The cabin itself is gorgeous and very spacious with tons of amenities. Some cosmetic work needs to be done around the house but nothing that hindered our good time. After skiing and snowboarding one day we went to the ski lodge at night where a live band was playing country and rock cover songs- big dance floor as well! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to host a big party/getaway/reunion. Thank you Sara and Brian!

Wonderful property for multi-family get away

  • 4 of 5

We had a great Memorial Day weekend at Massanutten in this beautiful house. The property is located at the top of the mountain, so close to hiking trails and the ski/adventure area. We really enjoyed the hot tub, fireplaces (we didn't get to use the outdoor one as planned due to rain, but appreciated the option), pool table, and very well appointed kitchen (high quality cookware, nice big fridge). There was plenty of space for everyone and the kids had a blast. It was very convenient to have linens provided and we appreciated the abundance of extra pillows and blankets. We would definitely stay here again.

We found the property very clean, but a few things needed maintenance (the upstairs bunk room had broken beds, nails poking out at the bottom of the stairs, broken DVD player - which created a scramble when trying to get a movie going for 10 tired kids!). It has also been a very wet spring and the basement rooms were pretty musty. The owners provided lots of information on local attractions in Harrisonburg, but we could have used more guidance on the resort and the amenities (and whether we had access to clubs and pools, etc.). The owners were very responsive during our stay, but we didn't get responses to Home Away messages with questions in advance of our arrival. Overall, we had a great time and appreciated having a fun, big house to gather with our friends.

The house was nice but Communication with the owner was not up to par

  • 3 of 5

The house was very spacious and inviting. However I had numerous problems communicating with the owner. He didn't send out directions or instructions on how to get to the house even after repeated requests finally I got that information the day before I arrived . When we got to the house the TV and VCR didn't work I contacted him about this he said he was going to do something and he never did. I have stayed in numerous VRBO homes in the past and unfortunately his communication style was not up to the standard I have expected

An amazing weekend to celebrate my mom's 85th birthday!

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing. Everything was clean and in order, just as Brian and Sara said it would be. Their instructions were perfect. Clearly defined the rules of the house. We treated their house with respect and cleaned as we went. The kids loved the pool table and nhot tub. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with the kids in the hot tub. The house is huge with room for everyone. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare a feast. I enjoyed having my 3 older nieces help me prep a Greek meal that I had learned while visiting Greece last year. Massanutten Resort has so much to do as well. The weather as rainy on Saturday, so we simply went to Harrison burg and went bowling. Fun times! I had seen one or two reviews about no hot water. Well, let me explain one small thing, when you have a house full of people, yes hot water will take time to refill a tank. Best way is to stagger the shower times. Hot water heaters are only so big. This house was perfect!

This place was great!

  • 4 of 5

We had a large group of 15 people, all were satisfied with the property. Was nice to be close to the slopes, the weather was great and we had an awesome time. The hot tub was hot, the BBQ worked great and the pool table was well utilized. Only a few suggestions.. that the house give access to cleaning supplies as when you're traveling from afar and only staying a few days you aren't thinking about buying or bringing cleaners. There also is not BBQ brush for cleaning which was kind of a hassle, but not a huge deal. If you stay here be sure to bring toilet paper as the house only supplies 1 roll per toilet.. which is also something different from other places we've rented in the past...

I would rent this property again, we really did enjoy it.
