About this property

Burrum Riverside Cottage

Riverside cottage with direct access to the river.
A quiet peaceful place with that old fashion weekender atmosphere with all the extra luxuries thrown in including air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, large TV, DVD, new ensuite etc.

The bedroom has a queen size bed and a single bed. The sofa in the living room folds out to a double bed.
The bedroom and the living/kitchen area both have views of the river as does the grassed BBQ area.

If fishing is your thing there is plenty of space to park your car and boat. We will give you a crab pot to use off the small jetty if you don't have your own. At the jetty there can be 3 metres of water at high tide and no water at low tide. The boat ramp is only one door away. You can fish off the jetty when the tide is more than half full.

We also have two kayaks. The river is tidal so the ease of launching the kayaks depends on the tide. Two bicycles are available. There is also a set of right hand golf clubs. The local 9 hole course at Howard is great for both beginners and experienced golfers. Only $15 for 9 holes.

The river is only 30 metres away (stairs involved) with access to our small jetty. The property also has two unfenced dams. So do not bring children to the cabin if they cannot swim or if there could be any potential for water safety issues.

Our nearest little town is Howard which is 10 minutes away and has one hotel (with great pub meals), a supermarket/newsagency, supermarket/hardware store, bottle shop, country style café, doctor, vet and post office.

Maryborough (historical) is 35 minutes, Childers 35 minutes, Hervey Bay
( Whale Watching and access to Fraser Island) 40 minutes and Bundaberg (Rum, ginger beer and food) 70 minutes. Toogoom and Burrum Heads 25 minutes. Plus nearby national parks and Lenthalls Dam.
Your hosts Neil and Carol live on the 2 and half acre property as well and are happy to help if asked with local information or special needs.

Other notes.

Stay a week or longer and get a 15% discount

The BBQ is wood fired and firewood is supplied, There is also a small gas BBQ
As we are right on the river and midges can sometimes be a nuisance arround dawn or dusk.
Personal insect repellant is provided just in case.
