Experience gracious living in an historic setting
Kangaroos and emus galore! Adair is a gem. The view stretches for miles across green fields to distant mountains. Inside the house, the look of a gracious, historic site is preserved while all the modern conveniences are available. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and serving meals. Numerous hikes originating from the property lead to viewing points from mountain cliffs. A unique experience and very highly recommended.
Very lovely property. Comfortable and roomy for our family. Was cold and heaters in all rooms would have been welcome. Fire in kitchen very effective. A new cooker is definitely warranted. We enjoyed the grounds and wildlife.
I'm glad you enjoyed our lovely property.
It was a very cold period when you were staying, but we normally find the heaters in every room (3 wood fires, 1 airconditioner, 2 electric heaters) are sufficient, as well as the electric blankets on the beds - I guess that's the nature of a country house.
We know the kitchen, although provided with quality cook wear, is basic, so we price the house accordingly (although we have no control over the fees that HomeAway apply).
Great farm house
Great spot for a catch up with old friends. Our only disappointment was the fire in the living room was unable to be used. We chose the house because it had a fire so it was upsetting that it was not to be. We stayed warm but stayed in the kitchen all weekend instead.
I'm glad you enjoyed the wood fire in the kitchen with the spacious table for chatting around with your friends. We have 2 other wood fires in the house as well, making three in total and have plans to fix the fire in the living room in the future. In the meantime, guests can use the reverse cycle air conditioner for heating in the living room.
We absolutely loved our stay at Adair. The property is beautiful and the house itself was clean, well equipped and spacious enough for 10 of us not to feel like we were stepping over each other. We were unlucky with weather (fog) on our trip which meant we were unable to see a lot of the sights we had came to see at the National park - however everyone had such a good time anyway as Adair was a perfect base to chill for the weekend. If you stay here make sure you set your alarm early as the morning views off the balcony are breathtaking. We look forward to returning when we visit the Grampians again.
I'm sorry we couldn't control the weather for you, but so glad you had a great time anyway. You are welcome back anytime.
From the moment we drove up the driveway we knew we were going to have a fabulous weekend away with the family. Wild emus, kangaroos and deer roaming the property absolutely made our experience magic. The house itself was exactly what we needed! A huge kitchen table next to a fire place where everyone could be together. The lounge room was also great for the little people to play board games and watch the footy! The fireplaces in some of the rooms just added a great touch to this experience. We also loved the fact that there was instructions for lighting fires (handy for the boys ;) ) and a information for things to do in the surrounding areas! We had all age groups from a 1 year old to a 60 year old and everyone was so thrilled. Thank you so much for letting us stay in this amazing house. Forever grateful.
I'm so glad the wildlife greeted you on your arrival and that your stay was so enjoyable. You are welcome back anytime. Cheers, Catherine
Stunning house in the most amazing setting
The most amazing house in a setting that is rare to find , a house where the animals actually come to you as you sit around the decks sipping cold ones and keeping cool in the stunning mountain setting . A total gem.
