Wagstaffe Cottage on the Bay is located in the centre of the serene Wagstaffe community, 90 minutes drive from the Sydney CBD.
The Cottage is a deep waterfront property with private jetty and at low tide there is a small sandy beach. The back garden is not fenced so is unsuitable for pets, and children would need to be very closely supervised.
Fishing season is from early October to late April when you can enjoy catching your next fresh seafood meal from the jetty or on the bay in a boat. You can bring your own boat and tie it to the jetty during your stay or hire one from nearby Killcare Marina (Boat Bike Paddle Hire Central Coast), or Andersons Boatshed at Booker Bay (offering a free delivery service to Wagstaffe waterfront properties by appointment).
Wagstaffe Cottage on the Bay is an older style house with high ceilings in the original front section. It has recently been repainted and has wooden floorboards throughout the living area and new carpet in the three bedrooms. The main bedroom includes a large built-in wardrobe and queen bed, there are two king single beds in the second bedroom and a second queen bed in the third bedroom. There is a ceiling fan in each bedroom.
All large kitchen appliances are stainless steel - a gas stove and oven with electric grill, a fridge and microwave. The kitchen is stocked with crockery and utensils, some basic pantry items and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is a 4-burner BBQ and outdoor table setting on the waterfront.
The living area has a reverse cycle air conditioner and ceiling fans, with comfortable Hampton-style lounges to enjoy the water view, a 50'' full HD LED LCD smart TV, Netflix, a DVD Blu-ray player and selection of movies, and WIFI internet for your convenience.
The toilet is separate from the bathroom and the laundry includes a front-loading washing machine and dryer.
Street parking is available in front of the cottage and there is also a small parking area two doors away, adjacent to the public wharf.
Bath towels, pillows and doonas are included. You will need to bring your own beach towels. To keep costs down we give you the option of bringing your own sheets and pillowcases or contact us if you require these to be supplied at an extra cost of $15 per bed.
It is a thirty second walk from the Cottage to Wagstaffe Hall and the public wharf where you can catch the ferry to Palm Beach for a day out, to Ettalong for a meal and movie, Ettalong markets on any weekend, or just enjoy a round trip to Palm Beach and admire the scenic views.
Take a ten minute walk down Wagstaffe Avenue to Pretty Beach waterfront where Turo Park offers a tennis court, a soccer net area, shipwreck-themed playground and BBQ facilities with under-cover picnic tables.
Local markets can be found every weekend at various locations around the Central Coast. You will find local produce, homemade food, arts and crafts and much more. Pretty Beach markets are held in the grounds of Pretty Beach Public School (just past Turo Park) on four Sundays each year.
If you enjoy bush walking you can start at the Cottage and walk up Mulhall Street from Wagstaffe Store and go left at the top of the road into Albert Street. There is a track a bit further along on the right side that will take you over the hill and down the other side to Lobster Beach. This secluded beach is only accessible via this track or by boat.
Half Tide Rocks is ideal for rock fishing and can be accessed via a bush track at the top of Wagstaffe Avenue where it meets the northern end of Albert Street.
There are many beautiful bush walks in the surrounding Bouddi National Park and it is a five minute drive to Killcare Beach, surf club and kiosk, and the Latitude Thirty-Three Restaurant which has sweeping views of the beach. At the southern end of the beach near the surf club is a crystal clear rock pool ideal for children.
