About Helen and Peter
We are proud to offer The Artisan as short term accommodation in Adelaide. We enjoy staying in good quality accommodation ourselves, so we make every effort to present the same for others. We have been offering holiday accommodation for about 5 years and have won the Stayz (now Homeaway) "Peoples Choice Awards" for two of our places. We haven't won an award for this house yet, but we will keep trying :)
Helen and Peter purchased this House in 2016
Why Helen and Peter chose Adelaide
We chose this house because of its location in the South West corner of Adelaide city. It's got the lot within walking distance. Restaurants, cafe's, shops, markets, gardens, public transport, parks, etc.
What makes this House unique
The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The ground floor has a bedroom, bathroom, laundry, kitchen and living area, so you could live on this single level without going up stairs. The second level has the other two bedrooms and small second living area and a bathroom. And, then there is the rooftop deck with fish ponds, an outdoor TV, and a city view.

Excellent accommodation in central location
We stayed here for 8 nights over Christmas and New Year with 4 adults and a four year old. It served our purposes well and there were three levels (including a roof top terrace and three televisions) to spread ourselves across. The location is very central - around the corner from an IGA and restaurants/bars, an easy 12 minute walk to Central Markets and only a few stops by free tram to Rundle Mall and North Terrace. If you want to live like a local for a few days in Adelaide, it’s a really good property. Although not cheap, it was cheaper than multiple rooms at a hotel and has the added benefit you can self-cater. For transport, we had a 7 seater Kluger that just squeezed into the garage. If you have more than one car, on-street, free parking is limited. The owners were helpful and answered any questions promptly. Overall, highly recommended.
Compact but convenient!
Great location close to the city.
Fantastic place to stay, everything you could possibly want was included. The location was great, so close to the city.
Great apartment with all our needs. Perfect for traveling with teenagers.
Great location. All mod cons. No Wifi but made the stay better for socializing with teenagers. Great communication with hosts. BBQ was an excellent addition.
Secret gem in the city
We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Artisan for 5 days. The first week in January. Wow, the property (inner city town house) was amazing. The location was great and having private garage (with keypad remote) made it even better. It was very very quiet, no noise at night at all. It is located in a small side street Everything in the property was the best quality from the cutlery, linen, appliances, furnishings to the remote / electronic on the main bedroom bed. It was a keyless property which was great so no need to worry about misplacing keys etc. It is perfect if you had 2 x couples or more as the bedroom downstairs is very roomy with the bathroom next to it and then upstairs is another 2 bedrooms a small sitting area with tv and another bathroom. The tv from the sitting area can be seen from the bedroom (no tv's in either bedrooms) which was good as well. Plenty of hanging space and shelving for clothes etc...Upstairs from the second level is a lovely private deck area which is wonderful to sit up there and relax .There is a clothes line in the garage which was handy. We will certainly be back to stay at The Artisan as we have stayed at quite a few stayz properties but this would have to be by far the best we have stayed. Usually when staying at a property you realise it's missing this or that but with this property absolutely everything was thought of. A big congratulations to the owners of this property. Fiona.
The Artisan is positioned in the South West corner of the Adelaide Central Business District. This area is the Restaurant and Cafe area of the city, with several great dining places in Gouger Street.
The Gilbert Street Hotel is just one of the several hotels in the area and has good pub meals, craft beers, local wines, and entertainment during the week and on weekends. And, don't worry, it won't interfere with your peaceful nights' sleep.
The Southern parklands are only a few steps away with a creek, ponds, flowers, walk paths and a playground.
There is a deli just around the corner.
The tram stop is 450m away and this can access Glenelg beach in one direction and through the city to the Entertainment centre in the other. The tram is free in the city.
