About this property

Bali-inspired Hinterland Oasis

Description:
The sun-filled home, designed and built by internationally renowned furniture designer Tony Kenway, contains high, vaulted ceilings and a large timber deck to catch the sunrise over Byron Bay. A perfect haven to relax and entertain.

Set in the lush hinterland, you’ll feel yourself unwind as you take in the vista of rolling hills and forest and landscaped gardens, reminiscent of Bali.

With cathedral ceilings, skylights, polished wood floors throughout, with vast rural views – you’ll be sure to enjoy your stay.

You can have all the peace and quiet you may want, yet without a sense of isolation as the property is situated only 10 minutes from the boutique village of Bangalow, and 15 minutes from the stunning beaches, shopping, dining and night life of Byron Bay and only 5 min drive from the quaint village of Federal where you can dine at a world class Japanese café, ‘Doma’.

This home is perfect for a family and offers a large, sunny childrens' room/rumpus room which opens up via double French doors directly to the large, flat lawn and play area with a large trampoline, a large custom made swing set and a round 3.6 meter (1.3 metres deep) above ground pool for the kids.

The double story house may also be perfect for two separate families as there are bedrooms and bathrooms on both levels.

The house comes with a very child-friendly and laid back cat called Silky. Her food is dispensed automatically and she uses a cat door for independent access – you will not be required to look after her as she is very self-sufficient.

We are a relaxed, nature-loving, 'out doorsy' family. We love to surf, fish, snorkel, camp and bush walk. Tony is an internationally renowned furniture designer and maker and Oren is a documentary filmmaker and writer. We offer our home for guests occasionally while we are away and we want our guests to feel as though they are in a home away from home!

Why they chose this property

Tony's amazing craftsman's skills have been put into the design and construction of this home. People often say it feels like a treehouse from the main living space as you look out through large bay windows over the tree tops. There's so many spaces to relax, and it's great for kids.

What makes this property unique

Craftsman built timber house which has the benefit of feeling very peaceful and quiet, yet is only a 15 min drive into the beaches and bustle of Byron Bay.
