Quiet Retreat
Wonderfully quiet and beautiful surroundings on the creek with birds everywhere. Particularly relaxing visit. Penelope was on top of things and responsive… we could’ve stayed much longer

Great Location
Group of old guys fishing for a week. Very secluded location and if you bring a boat Yankee Point Marina is just a few minutes by water away. Plenty of room for 6 guys. Kitchen is better stocked with pots and every imaginable gadget than most people's home kitchens.

Couldn't be better- look no further!
This was our annual family vacation- myself, my husband, my two college-aged daughters, and our 10-month-old Corgi puppy. The house has all high-end amenities- everything we could possibly have wanted. We kayaked, paddle-boarded, and canoed every day because it was so effortless having the river as our backyard with the dock right there. We woke up at 0330 one night and watched the Perseid Meteor Showers with no lights to diminish it. Penelope responded incredibly quickly to the few questions we had and their welcome letter doubled as a very thorough tour guide to local restaurants and attractions. We highly recommend 'The Office Bistro' in Irvington for dinner, and 'Country Cottage' in Whitestone for ice cream!

Coming Home
I grew up in Richmond, VA and spent many of my summers around the Chesapeake Bay boating, fishing, crabbing and camping. I live in Kentucky now and have three young boys (ages 11, 9, and 4). For years I have been wanting to take them and our older yellow lab to the bay area so they can enjoy the same experiences I did. This is the PERFECT location for some down time and to get away from technology and the screens. My parents and older brother and his wife also came from Richmond to spend some relaxing time with us. Everyone kept talking about how wonderful the place was. The location is quiet but close enough to go to Kilmarnock. The ferry helps make the trip shorter. We are eagerly looking forward to our next trip!

Always wonderful
We always enjoy staying here tremendously. The house, property and cove are beautiful. The owner is wonderful to work with and the house has all the amenities you could want. Although the house has Wi-Fi and all the TVs you could want, we always just unplug and enjoy boating, swimming, skiing, kayaking, fishing and crabbing. I don’t think we’ve ever turned on a tv in three times of staying here. It’s an amazing place to be together with family, relax, and enjoy nature!
